Good grief, I just went ahead an purchased Object Desktop Ultimate, and notice in Impulse, there are 3 different versions of Skin Studio available to download. I want to use OD on my Vista AND on my XP system, and my questions are these: Should I just download SkinStudio 6 Professional, as I assume thats the latest and therefore best version? And do I need to download a seperate version for installation on my offline XP machine? (I am downloading and archiving to t

Here we go with this whole ball of wax yet again. And please, nobody take this persoinally, it's not intended as a flame. Either Impulse or Impulse anywhere require an online connection. My OFFLINE computer where this software is to be installed is, yes, you guessed it, OFFLINE...!!! It is neither rigged nor capable to go online nor will it EVER be online. I want to install on that machine however, the current versions of th

I installed Impulse, even though I don't want anything to do with it, just so I could download and install the software I PAID for on my offline computer. I have registered my products, and hit "download and archive". I went to the folder and all I see are files with the extension .impulse. What the hell? If I doubleclick those files on my online computer, which has impulse installed, all I get is: "Windows cannot open this file. blah blah

Downloaded the "Free" version, downloaded several screens from the gallery. Installed said "Free" version, which in turn installed, WITHOUT ASKING, that Impulse crap. After installation, de-installed Impulse first, then started BootSkin, and found NO way to add and use any of the screens I had downloaded. So, tried to de-install BootSkin, but nooooooooo, "Impulse required to uninstall". So re-installed BootSkin including Impulse, uninstalled BootSkin, and then uninstalled Impulse

That's cute 'n' all, but simply changing colors is not the same as a real skinned theme. If I could do anything remotely good with graphics, I'd try it myself but I can't, so I'm requesting one/seconding a request for one.

I second the request for an Irish-themed WB Skin. I on the other hand don't mind if it's not done by the 17th, but would ask not to fill it with too many clichés. Also appreciated would be XP AND Vista versions, as I run both. It would probably go well with this dream: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=1763&libid=50

Yes Zubaz, I know that, I have read the arguements for and against. However, a direct download does also allows the user to "(Install, archive, update, uninstall, restore)". So my question still remains, how do I get DeskScapes installed to my PERMANENTLY OFFLINE computer? [EDIT] Oddly enough, it seems to ONLY be the programs which require Impulse, and not the purchased Dreams...

Ireland attacks. Osama was sitting in his office wondering who to terrorise next when his telephone rang. "Hallo, Mr. Bin Laden!", a heavily accented voice said. "This is Paddy down at the Harp Pub in County Sligo, Ireland. I am ringing to inform you that we are officially declaring war on you!" "Well, Paddy," Osama replied, "This is indeed important news! How big is your army?" "Right now," said Paddy, after a moment's calculation, "there is myself, my cousin Sean, my nex
Seriously, where in the world can you honestly say 'I STOLE THIS LEGALLY'?
Erm, these days, China? Korea (at least back when I was stationed there in '89). When I was stationed in Korea in '89, if you went to a software shop downtown, maybe at best, 10% of thier stock was original, packaged software. All the rest was pirated floppies, MANY were virus-infected. And this was not a dark backalley place, this was a rather large store on a main s

I don't know if you guys 'n' gals would consider this relevant, I know I do. I have a non-biological daughter who moved out when she was 18, and went, without my knowledge for two years long, straight into the buisness-end of the... 'erotic branch'. After two years she confessed, and now we communicate regularly, and although I tried, I can't talk her out of it. According to her, she's an adult now, and can do what she wants, when and where she wants.

XP SP1 since 2002, no reinstall, no backup used, I somehow even managed to swap out the mainboard and CPU without having to reinstall. Getting close to having to though, the only programs still running somewhat stably, are PSP X, X1 & X2, eMule, mIRC, Dreamweaver 4 (8 used to work, but unfortunately no longer starts), ThumbsPlus, and a couple of minor programs. I can't even get a defragger to run dammit... [IMG]http://www.interceptor-one.com/Smileys/Damn_Put

Well, let me put it this way, I do what I do on my Offline computer, and it has been, and still is running XP, and that for over 5 years, WITHOUT even a hint of having to reinstall, clean Viruses/Spyware or whatever. No service pack, and because it runs so smoothly, and most of the MS Updates are security-related, I've not needed to patch anything. My Online computer however..... .... a complete mess!
