Black Market question in Sins of a Solar Empire Sins Forums

Hey folks! I just got SoaSE 5 days ago and am loving it! I love the scale and the concept behind the game, and look forward to playing it on a new system where the really large games don't start slowing down. I have a quick question about the black market function. In the manual, it mentions that we can "manipulate" the market for crystals and metal. I can't figure out what exactly that means. Could you folks give some pointers on what black market action
