Ignore the Pride of Hiigara and the vessels alongside it. The Pride was derived from the original Mothership, which did at the time fit the overall forces much better. The second game took a very different approach to Hiigaran design, some of which I am not at all impressed with. You can check out them all (including the mid game, Cataclysm) here .

Not originally saying anything was taken directly from Homeworld, but I was thinking more along the lines of influence. For example, take the vertical model and flip it on its side, comparing the geometry to that of the Vaygr Battlecruiser. I'm sure you can see some parallels in the overall shape, though the details, function, etc. are different.
