Sorry, having EA spreading its abusive DRM around on Impulse just made me lose a lot of respect for it. Not enough for me to stop buying from it, but it will make me 10x more cautious about any purchase I make on there. Even beyond the DRM there is the issue of the rest of EA's multitudes of sleaze that as a company I wouldn't want to be associated with lest I be mocked at the next PAX convention. Take for instance EA's appea
Whoa EA? [e digicons]8(|[/e] What happened to not supporting Draconian DRM on Impulse?
Some of the designers are using GOO, such as capcom on RE5, let's hope ea follows suit. I personally was suprised about re5 on impulse, definately a positive trend.

I also agree. My friends do too. One of the best games I have ever played, unfortunately bugs, excessive mp lag, crashes, and poor matchmaking increase time between fun needlessly.

It would be greeat if all the games could be autofound. I know gamespy did a scan for games, I am assuming by using windowsprograms database. It would be neat if ready to play could do the same. If not, custom add for games should start in the start menu where it is often easier to find programs for people.
Fast-forward a year and Impulse loads quickly and uses very little memory. Even when web controls are used, the amount of memory used is still far less than many commonly used programs as the screenshot above makes apparent.

Impulse works great for me, even better with the new version. I'm pleased to hear the background colour issue is being sorted.
Yeah really love the new rapid loading!!!
I have to say Impulse's download speed is one of the things that really sells me on it. I have Steam too, since some games are Steam only (like all Valve's stuff of course) but it is real pokey. At best it tends to go 600-700k/sec and that is usually only late at night. Often it goes 300k/sec or less, and during peak times (like a free game weekend) it'll go below 100. Impulse? 1.2mb/sec solid, which is the limitation of my Internet connection.<br /
Another thing that was surprisingly popular at the show was Ready to Play. It’s a new program set to go out into beta this week that lets people quickly find other people of like mind to play a given game. Someone described it as real-time eHarmony for gamers.
I think that was me... 6 months ago. Around the release of demigod I am pretty sure I buildt off your idea of player matching and came up with a slider system that has a striking similarity to
Seriously, I can't wait to get the faction customization in. The plan ATM is to give the player X 'customization points' that can be spend on the 3 major parts of your faction: the sovereign's stats, the civilizations stats, and your magical preferences. You can imagine the HUGE range of possibilities with such a system...it's going to be nuts
Damn, that sounds awesome.

Im also glad to hear that PAX was a success. ...I never understood why you guys keep talking about how the beta cloth map WONT BE FUN. Yet, you go on to say that the reason you wont include graphics in the first few beta builds is because it should be fun without them. Maybe I'm reading it wrong but seems a bit contradictory. <b

It will gather a variety of debugging info and generate another zip file in My Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Demigod\reports which you can email to [email protected]. They will then pass the info on to the developers if they cannot help solve the issue. [moved to correct category]
Kryo any chance

Yes we do but we would like you to go to speedtest.com to get a real determination of your speed, not the ESTIMATE from your ISP. A search will quickily give you the per playert bandwith cost. We would be happy to help if you gave information and worked with people. Doubt I will check this thread again.
