I am working on this large satellite level. the players will be at the very top of it, and down beneath it will be large solar panel, an asteroid mining operation and radar towers that rotate around sweeping for incoming signals. the two starting platforms where the citadel is located will have 1 ship on each side that is docked.
Why can't they use servers in Demigod like it is the case in most of the games that work perfectly well? I don't get it ...
I think everyone involved, in retrospect, wishes they would have used client-server model. GPG has experience with p2p and they thought it would work best.
Polynomial is trying a few different things to see if he can force a desync. So far he did a 3 human v 1 human and hit end game as host. http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/game/835911/player/22215/. No desync... showed him with a loss. Second test... host disconnect via pulling the ethernet cord out. This had interesting results. This test setup was 2v1... poly + another computer on his network v me. Pol

Hmmm... Not sure I love this solution.
No the game ends regularly. It's like in Supreme Commander now (when a desync happens in an online game, the game will close itself automatically).
So does the game close or the round end?

Available now to all registered Demigod customers via the Impulse client, the new update contains the following changes: Fixes a bug where stats were reported incorrectly after a host quit the game. I think paradox is using goo for drm on all their new games. Just so you know goo is stardocks version of drm, that they liscence to 3rd parties (as their games do not have drm). Goo is basically impulse in a file. I loved the 2nd one. Best simulation series ever, but I think I lack the time to invest in this right now. School is keeping me too busy.
I don't understand how suddenly a client side fix is needed for this, since this problem didn't occur after a Demigod patch?
I've been thinking the same thing, but they now the network code better than us.
