Thankyou!!! [e digicons]:D[/e] I've been waiting for glass support since Vista, i think i'll start working on some skins again. One other thing I'd really fancy is to be able to use bitmap masks for the blur area in the start menu etc... cause when I try to put nice big shadows on my skins they get blurred to.

Just tried it again and it works! Thanks Stardock!!![e digicons]:')[/e] [e digicons]
Is there a mask for controlling the amount of a texture that is applied to a skin (much like there is for coloring a skin). What if there are some part of a skin that I DON'T want to have the texture applied to? Is that possible - should that be possible?
I agree, masks would be good instead of letting WB "guess" where to texturize. It would also be nice to have masks to tell WB where to blur windows, menus, the start menu and the taskbar PS. I really li
Oh, and... this is probably NEVER going to happen but is there any chance that you could make UIS0 play nicer with custom msstyles ? I like aero but there are some small but really annoying UI bugs that a slightly modded msstyles would fix. But uis0 skins on custom msstyles look really wierd
I have to say UIS0 is really growing on me, I'd like to see a bubbly skin (aero bubbles [e digicons][/e] ) I'm glad you've noticed these bugs as well, It would be nice for UIS2 skins to be able to skin glass windows better. I wish you luck for the future
I did notice a few much welcomed new settings in skinstudio 7 (in the start menu section), I tested them out, and most of them ONLY WORK IN WINDOWS 7, even some of the ones labelled with a Vista logo, for example: All programs mode (Has a VISTA icon next to it) Settings in the "Bottom bar" section: Search field height Search field width adjustment I've been waiting for these features since I got WB6 for the first time
I use both. I'm just using WMP11 as an example of a program that uses DWM effects.
WB really should use masks to tell the DWM where to blur, like Ave's glass toasts.
Theres a wizard somewhere to troubleshoot problems with aero. If that doesn't work try opening an elevated command prompt and typing "net start uxsms".
@ Jafo : Nah, complicated commands, like "net stop uxsms" @ starkers : I've tried the RTM, MS havent fixed any of the bugs
Quoting ThoriumKnight, reply 3 Can I upgrade from sks6 for less than $19.95? Indeed. In fact the upgrade from SKS 6 Professional is a mere $0.00 If SkinStudio 7 Professional is not showing up in Impulse you may need to add a registration for it and use your SKS6 serial. Can I upgrade from sks6 for less than $19.95?
For some reason when I disable "Hide shadow on startmenu" in skinstudio the shadow refuses to show. This only applies to skins where I have specified a Start Button "Glow" image. Also, when the shadow DOES appear, it is square like in classic, when I turn the DWM off it changes to a rounded shadow. <img src="http://mmshya.bay.livefilestore.com/y1p1Hl5O5X2sfS24YH3zj-0G_mYINEcBvsux8723quLpemkX0p0A3v6odIZ4DdVJY7FrQ10vWmLW3aVn6zYA61bgsLHjgzRIxOA/StartMenuShadowBug.png" alt="" widt
WB6 actually worked fine on windows server 2008 (Vista Server)
I got it for free from http://www.dreamspark.com as a student.
I would also like more control over the search box on the Vista/7 start menu, like how LONG or TALL it is. And how far the "all programs list" is from each edge of the start menu (atm it is linked to how far the the mouseover item is) I'd like to specify my own image for the shadows on pop up menus and the start menu and I'd like to be able to have huge shadows like on Mac OS X. An OPTION to have a Fading start button and titlebar buttons (on perpixel frames) Start men
There is no windows experience score in Windows Server 2008 R2, there are no options to view or update it. It seems it just isn't a feature of the server os.
I'm running Windows Server 2008 R2 (i.e Windows 7 Server). WB doesn't skin anything except for windows that are already open (windows I open AFTER I apply a skin aren't skinned), everything else is classic. Your computer has a Windows Experience Index base score of WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 7.0 (build 230 - Windows 7 Edition) - 64 bit OS WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC WindowBlinds appears to be activated
I have a similar problem with Server 2003.
Sounds brilliant! but I'd rather be able to just get skinstudio 7 without having to get an OD sub (even if I had to pay for the upgrade) like with WB7 when it was still in beta.
A seperate image for the start button for the vertical taskbar (see #4), so we can center it or not, depending on the blind. I think it might be beneficial also to have a separate image for the start button for the top taskbar. I mean, the top taskbar itself has its own image, right?
I agree.
I agree with everyone else on this one. Especially skinning IE8 and having transparency in the navigation pane in Vista Explorer. I'd also like to see: WMP 11 and 12 skinning. Seperate "basic" taskbar/startmenu/pop up menu images for when the DWM can't run (in Vista). <img src="http://mmshya.bay.livefilestore.com/y1pjpwyYvbrK1QzWyan3LkvknCqW-hKCozcqu83z8AknddA10LCVEQ_dbjLwHZNJ06MnfQ0_i_eB8aV87PQ35gLq5BbVjtMgTcm/WindowPreviewsBug.png" alt="" width="
I like Vista [e digicons];P[/e] , and PLEASE release a beta of skinstudio 7 cause atm WINDOWS 7 is the nightmare for customization [e digicons]o_O[/e] . Although MS STILL havent brought ANY of the features they took away from Vista (at least not the ones I used). And there are STILL too many editions of Windows 7 You can no longer run command prompt commands from the start menu search box (at least not in the RC, correct me if they've fixed this in the RTM
How do you enable enlarged menus?
