I think items are a key part in the game and they can be used in some sort of achivments and ranking: Think of your items like cards in battle forge. you have lots of them and you choose only a part of them to the match. In demigod you will have a lot of items and you will choose a deck of items to be with you every match and you can always edit it in your free time. I was taking another look at the demigod trailer and realy by accident when i stopped the video I found an image of the torch bearer with some sort of wings or it was a different unit/demigod.It have the torch bearer staff but it also clearly have wings. the visual effect can also be good on non-demigod units and not just visual. lets say you have general demigod that one of his abilities is when his group of minotaurs get a large steak of kills he hes the abilite to lighten them on fire and cause alot of damege. overall great idea

game balance problems can be fixed and if they don't people don't have to play it, let them complain (unless you talk about the beta and want the attention to be on the regular game type, I'm talking about the finished game and its game styles it will come with) anyway, i'm sure more people will find fun in DM/TDM insead of not like it.

DM/TDM cant taint the game, if people don't like it they will not play it. simple as that. this is also the reason its very good to have several game style. if people doesn't like the "kill the other one castle" they will not play the game at all, but if you have other game styles they might find fun in those styles and stick to the game insead of leaving it.
