"Shmoopy* is naughty... Naughty girl!" You make it so hard... but this is a family board! Bad Shmoopy, bad! ^_^ I'm not afraid of your Fung sha-wing though! Nothing beats my tacklehugs!
kthxbye
Looks like our rain finally stopped - just dull grey and foggy now. Perfect time to be trying to get this blackbox style done or something - but am I? /me tacklehugs a Shmoopy!! Of course not. ^_^
And we truly appreciate the effort, Shmoopy! ^_~
*chuckles* So far, my experience with 3.9 has been thus: 3.9a performed /flawlessly/. I didn't have a single problem with it - other than fits of slowness with the console, and shellstyles. (Gads, those were intolerably slow.) Each build after 'a': Faster and faster - but less and less friendly with my system - until I finall had to stop using it. So yeah - I'm having to wait until the release comes out. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/jokegrim.
Now that's what I call a cheerful message! ^_^

"Not a bad idea for another library type here. Anybody know a place analogous to Wincustomize for sound schemes?" Not really. I've looked, but I admit, not very hard. Customizing sounds doesn't seem to be nearly as popular as eye candy does in Windows. Probably because the difficulty of making good, and unique sounds.
Hmmm - if you have any problems, post a screenshot of the GTA III shortcut properties window (the Windows properties, not OD's,) and we can see. Make sure it shows the /end/ of the Target line - not the beginning. ^_^
Basically... Ignore the 'Start in' field in windows. If the Target field has "C:\Program Files\GTAIII\gta3.exe" -"C:\Program Files\GTAIII" then, IIRC, in Object Dock it would be: Link: C:\Program Files\GTAIII\gta3.exe Arguments: -c:\program files\gtaiii\ I'm unsure if Object Dock requires the "'s or not, like Windows does. ( Oh, and I just pretty much repeated what you said, yes. ^_^) The Start In: option in Windows shortcuts is... rea
Right. Arguments are options passed through to a program as its run (as you probably knew ^_^) The biggest problem is, while there are unnofficial standards, there's not really a set standard for arguments and the like. Usually, they're in the form of / or - in windows. So, say "C:\Program Files\My Game\My Game.exe" -config mygame.cfg -res 1024x768x32 The -config and -res entries (with the data after them,) are the arguments. As for where to
I've played with both, YzDock and Object Dock - and especially with 0.88, or 0.088 or whatever of Object Dock coming out, I have to agree. Both docks are really excellent apps - but Object Dock's got it beat in visual quality, if you ask me. The only hurdle ODock had was memory usage, which has been -significantly- dropped in this latest version.
Oh yeah - and there's that whole new settings screen - but I didn't mind the old style. ^_^ Nothing wrong with the new window either though.
MEMORY USE! It's much, much, much lower! No more 16MB minimum docks! ^_^ I tried out the new version awhile ago and it was using a much more svelte 5MB of RAM. ^_^
Well, here, for one. In the Object Dock section.
Well, I got curious - so I installed 0.88... none of my games use arguments - but some of my other apps accept arguments. So I set up some shortcuts to test. All I did was created the shortcut on the bar normally, and in the 'arguments' field of 0.88 I put in whatever arguments I needed to pass to the app, and they were all sent correctly. O.o
Ooooh! A new alpha! Woo! You mean, I might actually be able to reinstall it again! I finally had to give up on 3.9b because it kept insisting on skinning my console windows... even though I had that turned off, and the skin it was using wasn't even on my system anymore... and I wasn't even using a windowblinds skin at the time. Something about the console hook was... eh... a bit aggressive? Wouldn't have minded so much - except that the skin it was using wouldn't properly skin the

Calling you a copy cat? OF COURSE I DID! ^_^ But, only in the best possible way, of course! heh.

Well, about the best I can do is offer up my well-wishes here. Unfortunately, right now my budget doesn't have room for mailing anything. So - I'm thinking good thoughts!
