Well - the first thing Paxx, Baldur's Gate on PS2 & Xbox != Baldur's Gate on PC. The only thing the two games have in common is the name and taking place in the Forgotten Realms. The console version is /much/ more a game along the lines of Gauntlet or Diablo than it is a role playing game. That said - the controls for it I thought, made the game tons more fun than the mouse control does in the diablo series. In fact - I find the old PSX version of Diablo to be far sup

"ne question kthxbye, have you experienced the dirty disc errors and freezing from Morrowind on the Xbox like I and many others have?" Uhm... No? I sure haven't. Wasn't even aware that people were getting those errors - it runs beautifully on my Xbox! ^_^ Yeah - I heard about SeaDogs II - the Xbox version being released before the PC version. -That- is one I'm going to wait on though! I'll probably wind up getting both, but I definitely want the PC version first! (I was

Hmmmm... I started typing stuff about the differences between PCs and console systems - about not having to constantly download patches, or worry if your hardware will work, and all sorts of things - but in the end, the differences boil down to two things: 1. You pop the game in and you go. 2. The entire experience, is just... -different- when you're playing a game on a console as opposed to on a PC. A good example is Morrowind. I have both the PC and XBox versions of Morr

Sure, the Xbox is based on traditional PC hardware, and even runs at its core the base of Win2k and DirectX - but it's still as much of a PC, or as little of a PC as any other game system. Which is to say - yes, they're computers. They're just highly specialized computers. Just look under the hood of the Gamecube, does it sound like you're talking about a 'PC' or a 'Game System'? ^_^ CPU: IBM Power PC "Gekko", 485Mhz GPU: "Flipper" - an ATI designed chipset.

Perfect solution to skins patching/updating/etc.: 1. Turn off shellstyles. 2. Use a shell such as Blackbox or LiteStep - never have to worry about that unskinned XP start menu again! *coughs* Sorry, I couldn't resist. I /do/ want to say though - I think this is a wonderful idea - I just... can't really give any opinions on it yet. I've been mulling it all over since the first time Frogboy mentioned it way-back-when. There's just too many variables involved for my poor

"If you found out that there were alternatives to fossil fuels available for 30 years " Again, only marginally related - but if you research the early, history of the automobile - you also find that electricity was the preferred type of power-source for cars by the masses. ^.^

Though Jafo - it /does/ say something when I can order a CD from europe and get it for cheaper than I can get one up at my local BestBuy... (No - i'm not condoning anything - just pointing out something only vaguely related ^_^)

Nature of the beast. Soon as a wrapper or something like that goes into full effect, something will be out there to counter it and render it useless. Betcha anything it only gets used on current new releases - 'pop' releases and the like.

"DavidK wishes he could get Mandarin mp3's somewhere... " Chinese websites? ^_~ Actually - I do admit, I every now and then I get an mp3 or two from a few friends of mine over in europe - that's actually how I've bought most of my CDs though. They know what I like, and so sometimes I check my email to find a mp3 from a band I've never heard of, or one from a band I know, but from a CD I didn't know they have out. Then of course - there's the free mp3s bands s

You hit it right on the head, Elfkura! Music and videos? Nah - most college guys I've known have had porn collections that took up so much space it made the amount of MP3s I currently have on my system (about 1 1/2 gigs,) seem small!

Hey - I admit it. I have a hard drive full of MP3s. I currently have 19 CDs on my computer, in fact. But - I have each of the CDs upstairs on my rack - this is just more convinient (and let me make another mp3 CD for the car.) Nyah. ^_^ (Whee! And I gave in to peer pressure and uploaded a desktop picture. Yay! Go me.)

I just stick to Carapace (which works wonderfully for me now that I've reinstalled Windows,) but that might be a bit much for somebody totally new to shell alternatives! (even though it's simple, slick, and easy as pie to set up.) Still has a small bug when you select explorer though... (and graphically it isn't happy with the XP style logon screen )
