The Toasters - "Enemy of the System"
kthxbye
Die Krupps - "Iron Man" Amazing live... I was awe when I saw them. *sighs*
Die Krupps - "Fatherland"
Just drive through DC right now. Fun fun.
Yup - understand it just fine - no worries about that. ^_^ Win2K's greatly customizable, as it's been said already. I ran it from the time it was released until the time XP came out - and never had a problem.
The XP Home upgrade works just fine on a blank HD, actually - as c242 stated, just have your ol' Win98 CD handy. Installing Windows onto a blank HD is always preferable to 'upgrading' a copy of it. While the vast majority of people have no problems upgrading 98-XP, I've still seen some scary things happen. Besides, in true Microsoft fashion, upgrading causes tons of crap you don't need to be left over.
Actually - I found out the other day that any image /period/ will work - Windows will automatically resize it down (keeping its aspect ratio, too) to the size it needs to fit into the box. The results aren't always the greatest - but my resized pic of Virginie Ledoyen that I keep there looks fine to me! ^_^
Something about the tables, is all I can figure. A good portion of the time with Wincustomize it likes displaying the left and right borders about 5 times larger than they are, or simply not displaying them at all. Then there's the times it simply refuses to display the graphics in the tables at all. I've not had good luck with Mozilla - which is odd, because most people I talk to don't have the same problems as me. O.o
I've mentioned this somewhere before, I know that - but in XP it requires a hack to ntoskrnl.exe. Same for 2K, I do believe. It's more potential trouble than it's worth, really - if you /do/ insist on doing it, I'd suggest keeping the original ntoskrnl and setting up the modified one to load up in your boot.ini - that way, if it bombs, you can possibly recover. But, if you've never editted a boot.ini file before - that isn't for the weak of heart either. ^_^
No kidding - I was hoping to be able to file them today. I could -really- use the money. *sighs* Oh well. Back to reinstalling stuff!
Aye - I finally had to give up on Mozilla. Aside from it using more RAM than MSIE (and not ever giving it up! Bad, bad memory handling,) but I could rarely get it to display either wincustomize or deviantART correctly. Shame too - I really like the browser, otherwise. I like it's tabbed browsing the best.
Yeah - I'm just too lazy to ever image my HD. ^_^ (Grrrr - W2's /finally/ got here - and wouldn't you know - one of them isn't even /partially/ correct. Wrong SSN, and my total witholdings for the -entire- time that I worked there are less than I got withheld from a /single/ cheque! *mutters*)
Whee! Well, back and running XP Pro. Now I just need to get all of my drivers and software installed again... the 'fun' part. Ugh. Amazing how much more quickly windows runs after a clean install. ^_^ The thing I like best? Memory used at the desktop: 70MB. Sheesh. Wish you could /keep/ it that low!
Speaking of XP - I think I've backed up all of the stuff I need to save - so, for some indetermined amount of time today, I suppose I'll be vanished while I replace XP Home with Pro! Hrm... or maybe I'll just wait until tonight...
Try diving when they're around, IPlural. They realize humans don't normally belong in the water and they try to 'save' you - but 'helping' you back to the surface. Too bad they don't understand the concept of SCUBA tanks or a snorkel. ^_^
Aye. 'in the use' should have read "in the US" O.o Tiiiiired tonight.
"So your full version XP Home is $300 or an upgrade for $150" Wow. $199 & $99 everywhere you go (or at least I go ^_^) in the use. Me, I've got 2 copies of Home (1 came with my latest notebook,) and 2 of Pro (both legal, only 1 of which I've had to purchase.) ^_^ Of course, I have 2 copies of Windows 2000 (Pro and Adv. Server,) that my last job bought for me too. <
I tend to use Drag 'n Drop CD - since it's what came with the Toshiba, and works like a charm... the biggest time waster's just getting things altogther in the same spot, so I can organize it to make into CDs! ^_^
/me peeks in. Anybody want to come over here and move all of my 'important' stuff onto CD for me so I can wipe this thing? Ugh!
What!? No room service?? Geez, what kind of school are you going to!? ^.^ Ahem.. speaking of which - I should take my butt into the kitchen and look for something myself. Gads, where's my maid?? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by SkinBrow
They'd probably be pretty nifty, too. *sighs* Too bad I'm no artist - you could get some cool animations with a dolphin cursor. ^_^
Bah - since when has anyone ever let lunch stop them from being in their PJs. Well, unless you're going out somewhere for lunch. ^_^
Where am I at? Exactly where I said! Right between DC and Baltimore. ^_^ Columbia, MD. I think my profile still says VA though. *chuckles* I've since 'crossed the border'.
gpedit.msc is, unfortunately, not included in XP Home.
Just to to DC and head north - or go to Baltimore and head south - you'll find me about right in the middle. ^_^
