I'm not in windows at the moment - so I can't give you the exact directions to do so - but it's in your display settings - on the.. ugh.. desktop tab I do believe? There's a setting with checkboxes to decide what to or not to show on the desktop - and I'm fairly sure that the recycle bin is there? Don't remember offhand - like I said, not in XP atm. ^_^

"kthxbye, It took me a while to figure out Carapace, as there is NO DOCUMENTATION and the website doesn't provide much help either. As long as Carapace is set as the default shell and the alternate shells are configured properly, it seems to work ok. " Ugh! Tell me about it. Though - my problem was, installing it, setting it as the default shell - and then it simply never appearing & explorer being reset as the shell. I knew about the bug that would cause Explorer to be reset as the

Yup - I haven't been around for a day or so - silly me, I decided to upgrade from KDE 3.0.4 to KDE 3.1 on my SuSE install... What a nightmare! I've come to the conclusion that not only do I -despise- kpackage (SuSE's own software manager doesn't allow installing from any non-NFS locations) but in the future, anything with -devel on the end, no matter how obscure, is getting installed at installation. Gah!

"I've got a decent shell-manager (Carapace 5.0)" Gah! Have you had any luck with Carapace at all then? I haven't posted anything over on Lowdimension yet - but it utterly does /not/ like my system - even with this still-relatively-virgin install of XP Pro. I've only actually been able to make it come up /once/. *sighs*

I had to ask the same question - and so I did a search. Here's what I turned up from a storefront: This is also a split track CD, which means that a melody cue appears on the right channel only, so if your CD player has a balance adjustment, you can adjust the melody by turning down the right channel. So - I don't see why /any/ audio player that plays CDs wouldn't play it?

Don't take me for an expert (I'm not!) but most of the time it can be done from the LiteStep control panel (LSCP.exe,) or the theme selector proggie (LSTS.exe). I think the default LiteStep popup menu has a theme entry in it, too - under.. erm... LiteStep? (Haven't reinstalled LS on my notebook yet.)

I -love- that mousewheel tip - for moving backwards and forwards, since I use the US - International keyboard layout and can't use my right Alt key as an Alt key! (Alt-arrow for moving, too.)

Not something I would have thought of - but the magic pink solution actually makes sense when you think about it. Ah well - I keep the task pane turned off anyway - I love the whole idea behind it - but 9 times out of 10 I don't use what Windows puts in there. Too bad we can't customize the -content- of the pane without hacking. ^_^ Speaking of hacking - before I reinstalled, I broke down and tried out the hacked uxtheme.dll. Enh. At least Windowblinds has never caused expl
