Ooh, guildwars players! Anyway, yeah, you can argue if a GWs monk heals the damage of 2.5 people or not, it has nothing to do with Demigod. Point is that Sedna's heal outdoes one offensive ability and maybe one normal hit after that. It certainly doesn't stop one person's ability to kill someone else and not more than one person's ability to do it of course. Bramble shield is

I haven't played against it so I'm not sure, but if they are just standing on flags healing each other and are all specced for healing, I would expect it to be easy to upgrade units and take out their citadel. It'll end a domination game too :P

So I learned not to bring out the priests too soon as it can end up feeding your opponent. There are two problems with this element of the game though as a mechanic, and I think I can suggest a good solution, but first the problems as I see them: 1. People tend to wait so long to summon priests that you can easily get priests, angels, catapults in one pass. I see this more often than not when both sides consist of good players and I personally think it is kind o

You can ambush in some of the maps. Portal to a flag (or just wait) that is off the beaten path where the creeps fight, wait for the enemy DG to go past, then run out. To the guy who said it takes him a long time to scroll to his base, what I do is zoom out with the mousewheel, move my cursor over the base and then zoom in with the mouse wheel. Takes longer than clicking the minimap would but otherwise it's fine. I can't see any reason not to allow minimap clicking though... I
Apologists FTL why are you guys so against balance?
It's a matter of degree. If this were remotely similar to an MMO I'd quit and never look back. The favour items are practically just bells and whistles at this point though.

Has no one mentioned that favor items are supposed to cost gold? They aren't just laughably easy to get, but once they are forcing you to choose between a favor item and something else at the start of a match, the benefit they give will decrease drastically.

In an earlier game there were some towers that weren't in the path of creeps (brothers map), and I went around with QoT and eventually killed them all while avoiding the enemy DGs. Then I realized I was like 3 levels behind everyone else...

Let's be honest, some people out there want modding tools because they want to turn Demigod into an exact copy of DotA. They'd take out the flags, increase the range on towers, change how unit upgrades work... I would hate to see that. I think it's ridiculous. Modding tools should be at the very bottom of the list imho, or they should be pretty limited on release because otherwise Dota fanboys are going to ruin a unique and balanced game.

I'm thinking about making a Demigod fansite for the purpose of spreading/advertizing/talking about how great Demigod is. I can host and make the basic webpage, but to really get it off the ground we'd need things like people who will make Demigod forum signatures to be used in other places, multiple people to write their own reviews (preferably funny things worth reading), etc. Anyone think they'd be on board to contribute something to such a project? I'm going to have a fa

If Demigod were to really take off, it would involve getting people who have never played DotA involved. Strange thought eh? A guide like this will help with that a tiny bit so I think it's great!

Voice commands are a good idea. I know that as you concentrate on the game, it's easy to miss people typing. One way to get around this would be to make it play a sound when someone types in a text message, the sound having a delay before it'll repeat again so that people can't be annoying with it. Edit: Option to turn the sound on and off too.

Interesting post, I think I might have had that problem and not realized it. I'm probably going to hold off on upgrading to priests asap now... as for when to do it? Well priests don't do much damage, but keep your guys alive, so then they help you to push forward and be able to do more damage to towers. So I guess it would depend on how much you want to push those towers. The size of the map probably matters too, since on a bigger map you are less likely t

It would be nice if IGN and Gamespot would re-review it, but who reviews things twice? Heh. I'd like to see penny arcade do a comic about it personally, I think it's a pretty interesting event the way the piracy has affected it. For people who care about the industry I can see this being historical, even.

Another thing worth noting I think is that since you have 2 healing units, the level 1 heal is actually 20% (without Sedna) and 30% for the level 4 heal. That's pretty significant if you can keep the heals on your demigod. Anyone tested what the cooldown on their healing abilities is, roughly even? Since if you do it twice in one fight we're talking 60% more health.

Even the nightmare computer will run headlong into my towers and 25 waiting troops when I'm at full health, every once in awhile. They need to either: 1. Decrease gold for killing Demigods, 2. Not have dropped players be replaced by computers, or 3. Make killing the -computer- worth like 1/3rd as much gold. It's not like you can control the computer so why not, neither side would really be taking advantage of it then.
