If there are not enough players on release day it will most likely never happen. Maybe more people would buy/play it if there was a proper team matchmaking? Cucstom 2v2 is no fun because of the huge skill gap between players and the resulting frustration.

In Forged Alliance Forever there is a notification bar to let you know when somebody of your skill rating is currently searching for a game and you can just click on it to jump in a ladder match.
