Definatly some interesting topic here. I find the way good and evil are portrayed quite lacking in most games too. As you said, evil is alsmost always nearly mindless violence. Evil is always dependant on the point of view anyway. The title of your post suggests you´ve read Nietzsche´s "Beyond Good and Evil". Take GC for example. Why is it evil, if i protect the lifes and wellbeing od my citizens by scaring off potential enemies, or by taking them out effectivly? O
