paper and dice? Like the old "Stellar Conquest?" Cool. Nice cover. Agree about the two ships looking identical in shape, size and orientation on the page. For another cover, may I suggest going forward from your first cover. Perhaps have one of these 'human' ships facing off with an 'alien' ship, both in orbit around (or near) an earth - like planet with two moons? Use contrasting colors of the ships. Create visual tension
Take PQ? = Planet Quality? You mean use a customized race, take the max PQ allowed, and a specific racial choice. OK, will explore that. Thank you!
I think the important thing about any combat system in this (or any other) game is that it provide an evolving set of challenges, options, and tradeoff as the game (technology) progresses. 'Interesting choices' is my mantra with games. Combat should present the player with options. many possibilities for choices, tactics, ways of exploiting weaknesses, and strengths of both sides' units should evolve as weapon systems, training, skills, etc., also evolve / develop.&nbs
Ah, skip the froggy legs. I'm sure they taste just like chicken - and chicken is easier to get at the grocery. Besides, i saw an episode where kermie got caught by a french restaurateur, and he was hobbling around on crutches, (no legs left). Was very sad. Just think how froggy's 's children would react. So, please leave his legs off the menu.
This is a 'handy' thread, isn't it?
Rikazema: Well thought out -and very effective. I agree wholeheartedly with with your ideas (reply #25, preceding).
Trainer ability: When SOV (hero?) is in same tile as unit(s), and not moving, fighting, etc., the units gain a small increase in experience. This could be for all units, or for a specific type (archers, or mounted, or arcane research.. etc.) Trainer ability might level up with trainer's leveling up? Specific building(s) might also train, or enhance training?
To piggyback on your sentinel idea. What about an arms trainer. A hero thet trains units in same stack and give small exp points every turn?
This idea has merit -and I hope people comment on this so SD has another souce of ideas to draw from. The rock, scissor, paper analogy reminds me of GalCiv2 with its three weapon types and three defense types.
I play galcivII w both add-ons (Twlt of the Arnor) and never found a planet above 18? What am I doing wrong? is setting in game set up? (sad...)
I. also, would be happy to assist...
I was going to post some ideas ... and see that most have already been posted above. So, just let me say, i concur! I would like to suggest some sort of environmental adjustments. Perhaps the ability to create sand storms that sweep into an area and obliterate improvements (the 'built' part - not the actual tile), and would also disrupt food or gold production, etc. The ability would start very small, and scale up. What about a SOV that has mental conne
Yes, Mystickund, you summarized it very well. She will stay with her hubby. In one game I was shocked, when I saw my daughter on the battlefield, opposing my troops. First time was a shock. Now i expect it. I just wish it wasn't gender based - daughters leave - sons stay and brig their 'bride' along. Its what we have for now...
Wonderful news. Please, no matter what changes you make, keep in mind that a "game customization" input page would be wonderful. Allow us to modify, via a set of check boxes, dials, etc., the cost, speed, strength, etc., of units, spells, etc. Allow us to modify in game assets, abilities, etc via this customization page. Please don't force us all to learn XML, etc just because we think a spell should cost more (or less) or want to play with "a faster /slower <fill i
I feel there are several issues here that get co-mingled in all the posturing by the various "interested' parties. Yes, jammie violated both the law, and a strict understanding of stealing. She is being held accountable. She should pay the going rate for the intellectual property she stole, and some sort of reasonable fine, community service, or whatever. And that is as it should be. However, there is a grave injustice built into our system of fines. When
This is a "fantasy" game, isn't it?
very well done!
something small and shiny? You know, to tide us over? (sad)
Not Thursday? (sad)
Thanks Brad. BTW, I wholeheartedly agree with post #17, above. Allow maximum user customization of the game environment. While you are in there with the engine, put in a set of customization links, triggers, sliders, etc. Please.
many, many, many good ideas. So many that i have to step back and think about all these. wow!
Monty python trivia? fess up, tell all....
awesome. wonderful story. hope you write more... many more...
