The tooltip is a bit ambiguous. It says it gives health regen to your allies. I'm not sure if that's supposed to include yourself or not because currently it doesn't.

I've read that the chaining effect is purely visual, and from what I've seen (I play a tower rook mostly) I tend to think it's correct. I've noticed that my towers deal more damage based on how many towers are in range of the target, rather then just how many towers are linked together.
I just went in a tested this, and I'm definitely wrong. I could have sworn I specifically tested this idea out when I started messing with the rook tower build, but I guess not. My B.

Hey, just be happy you've got a profile. I've been playing Pantheon since friday and I don't even show up. I'm officially done with Pantheon until they fix it.
Everyone who says the tower tree is worthless obviously doesn't know what they're talking about. I play max tower/structure transfer/castle upgrades and have yet to loose a match or even not be the top of the damage chart. There are additional benefits to increasing the skill beyond the number of towers you can have up. The towers themselves get stronger. Not to mention you have an immediate way to heal yourself since it only takes .5 seconds to raise a tower and then

They definitely benefit from the bulding hp upgrade from the citadel, so I'm pretty sure they benefit from the damage. I've been having great success by maxing towers and pumping up structures from the citadel
