Yeah, I agree with most of this. It's sad that these old game types that were hugely popular were basically abandoned. I can see the large money grubbing companies shying away from them but what about all the indie/small developers out there? If one of them actually made a really well done game of one of these types I bet they would sell a lot of copies and get a loyal fanbase that would continue to follow them.&nbs

The pirates got ahold of this game awhile ago. Then again, i think DRM after the first year or two of a game is pretty much pointless or an attempt by the publisher to get people to buy games twice or push them into sequels.

Do you have to manage your party in combat or it like KotOR where it's kind of optional? I've shied away from it because I'm not so interested in dealing with a whole party. It's optional. You'll want to do it (especially with the mages) to get the most out of your party/for the hardest battle

The GOO executable isn't going to be the same as that with nothing or with a different protection, so the existing OBSE can't modify it since it isn't written for it. Non-SE mods should work just fine.
I was going to say. I've used mods for other games before and I

Got another one today. Speaking of which. How come when I click the back button to recover my hastily written but not always saved post to post again, the quotes don't work? I mean nothing has changed but the forum just posts the code instead of actually using it.

Video cards might cost about the same as some consoles now, keeping in mind how expensive the consoles release at, but the difference between how a game on the 360 or PS3 looks compared to on my machine is pretty large. I am not even using one of the expensive cards. Besides, BFG, EVGA, XFX, PNY... they're all just taking the same base model ATI or nVIdia throws out, slapping some paint on it, tweaking it some and releasing 5 versions of the same card at different price ranges. Hinterland could use a graphical and camera overhaul though and Children of the Nile was lacking the charm of Pharoah/Cleopatra. Never played Caesar IV so I am not sure what was wrong with that.

Like Spore, the idea behind the game was fine... just the implementation was lacking. They made it sound like Sim City Societies was going to evolve as you built it, the actual system they used was blah and the game was pretty unstable at end game... as in unbearably bad.
