Quoting Hortz, reply 51 It will all come down to the quality of animations, how detailed and fluid they are and if the unit is upgraded(class or spell wise) will it have new upgraded animation and other effects concurrent with every upgrade, like lighting and such(Diablo 3 is a good example here). Animation is different from graphics, for example Resident Evil 4 has poor graphics for today's standards but it
@Nesrie - No worries. Also I agree with your position about "clean code". That is one reason I offerd to help pay for the update. I also think Paradox games are unique and always wanted SD and PI to merge and make something wonderful for gamers.
That would be great idea. Although I am complaining, albeit just a little bit, about Elemental's graphics at this date and time, in general I find SD games to be more visually appealin
Quoting kyogre12, reply 4 Quoting Hortz, reply 2 It's not that it is just cartoonish, but that it's extremely minimalistic. Because a game that could potentially have 32 players and hundreds, if not thousands of units should have graphics like Crysis, and should only be playable on computers that won't exist for another 3 years. Gee, that makes total sence. Oh, and that's sarcasm, by the way<br

I don't think it needs to be realistic, just "softer" if that makes sense. Visual appeal is only part of a game, and while there are games that I have not played because I could stand the look of it, that's not the usual issue for me in not buying a game. <br
Quoting Nesrie, reply 18 Have you played the game much? It is not a "multiplayer" problem persay. There are a certain number bugs that come up more often in multiplayer games, because there are, you know more players getting events than just one. If they fixed the bug it would help singleplayer and multiplayer. Thanks for being honest though, I guess companies that release a product are no longer required to fix a featu

The original will just never be fixed enough to play multiplayer. It crashed on us all the time but CK2, where they build the code from the ground up would be awesome and most likely stable. Unfortunately that is definitely a niche game, and I doubt it sold real well. Here's to hoping though.<b

I am not a fan of what I see either, but I also reserve judgment until I see more. Tha coloring scheme/theme, reminds me a little of Borderlands current style, and I don't care for that either. I don't know what you mean by animations being the only thing to save this game though. I would say great gameplay would do a lot to save any game.

I enjoy this game a lot. It has a steep learning curve, one that pretty much never ends as they've been tweaking this game forever, and patching it. Compared to another game I play (CK), this one is a lot more stable. Only occasionally get out of sync errors in multiplayer, and no issues I recall in single player. There is a lot going on in this game, definitely not for many outside the strategy lovers circle in this one. If you like it, you will sink hours and hours into playing the game eas

Well GC2 should have been better the Master of Orion II, considering the years between the two. The only thing Master of Orion II was better at was multiplayer, in that it had multiplayer. My friends and I spent hours and hours playing that game together. It was great. Course now turned based is a little trying for our tastes (simul turn is so much better, thank you Civ IV). Unless GC looks at multiplayer, I say there is plenty of room for Master of Orion IV. I would not want Stardock to

I play Sims 3 and played Sims 2. I played GalCiv II, Europa Univ III, and CIv IV. Sims is a fun game. People buy the game because it's fun to play. Last I check, not liking a game doesn't make it crap. I don't play WoW, but I know a lot, a lot of people who do. Guess what, I don't bitch and moan about that either. They've got games they like. I've got games I like and they are obviously selling well. As for Spore, not sure about that one. Only time i see blogs, articles, or messages abo
Personally, I'd love to see 32 player support. No one has to play with that many but I'd like to see the game support it.
Just to have the option would be great. I personally wouldn't even come close to that number, but that doesn't mean I would want it limited to only cater to my tastes. What would be more important to me is the ability to play against the AI in a Co-op mode, similar to some of the HOMM3 maps (team play
Quoting Awac A, reply 4 But why is bigger always better? Its like your average paradox game. NOW WITH 10.000 PROVINCES!!!!¨ If you are patient the larger maps are always better because it means more strategic paths not only on the map, but strategic options and it means much larger armies for larger battles. I'd rather fight an enemy of 20,000 units, 100 different summons,
In all 3 cases, you suffer from DRM. Quod erat demonstrandum. No he doesn't. He's stated many times already that he doesn't 'suffer' from DRM in any way, shape or form. He 'rolls' with it. It doesn't cause a problem. There are never any hiccups in his system or games because of it. It is there, but not an issue. I can say the same thing frankly. I've never ever had a problem with DRM. It's just not that big a deal

I build my own computers. I own my software, including the OS. I've had Starforce on my system, and removed it. I got it from a demo, i repeate, a demo. I have Securom on my system now, although it is indeed version 7, it did not come with activation limits or forced online acivitation. It's not about the DRM ruinning my system, and although I own NWN 2, and am aware of the 1.23 patch creating a verifiable problem for legal owners, as it the issues BSOD issues with that game came with a patch
