A good trailer could help Elemnetal sell better. (keyword is could. I didn't say it was for certain). And a good trailer do

Warhammer Online had a lot of attention at launch, and then it cratered because the game itself was pretty bad. X-Com as an FPS would be a terrible idea. I think I would have to consider boycotting any company that would turn an incredible strategy game like X-Com into some sort of blockbuster FPS. Now if a company wanted to consider doing a new X-Com game and did it well, worship may soon follow.

For some reason, for games in the fantasy genre, I have a much higher expectation for the soundtrack than others. I would like a variety of tracks, tired of listening to the same track over and over again in strategy games in general, epic and little neat sound effects. Themed music for each race and/or alignment sort of thing would be interesting too.
Well I never said any of those things either. In fact, the discussion about graphics was already going when I joined those threads. I didn't start them myself, only added my own voice to it. I am sure there are people who enjoy the style and think it is just going to get better. That's fine. If I thought the game was going to fail (oops, not using fail as a noun I mean), I would not be here. I do think there is room for criticism and I think its pure snobbery to think that this game shouldn't

The term "better" is completely subjective. I don't think its necessary to try and prove which game is better than another, nor do I think it's useful to anyone. I do agree with Vincente in that games should be released in more finished states than they are now. I don't know what happened to the industry, as a whole, to make them think its okay to push out unfinished products just because they can patch them later. Of course. However, most Devs/publishers -as opposed to EA- actually try to give people who have probs with their products support the best way they can...
