and, after re-reading your post....lolololol that is good ole, typical Kingbee. You degrade an entire group of ppl with generalizational insults, while crying about their own personal opinion. In other words: the country fans (why didn't you just go on and call them uneducated, ignorant hillbilly rednecks? That is what you were getting at, right? But instead of just being simple, you had to put in your own "intelligent" description?)
MythicalMino
my point is this, Kingbee, though, I am not sure why I am going to use my time to explain it to you. The point is this: The Dixie Chicks gave their opinion. Fine, it is their right. So, fans and radio stations gave their opinion in the way that they could, boycotting their music. The Dixie Chicks cry a river, saying it is not fair that fans of country music would do that. In other words, the left could not handle what they dished out
I was not speaking of coming here and posting. What I was doing, was comparing this site with another well known "tolerant" site. This was AFTER Maurice posted about the right wingers shouting down the left. On the "tolerant" site of the "tolerant" side, the rightwingers are just banned.
why don't you read who I was talking to, and what I was talking about?
definitely agree that right wingers are pretty likely to shout other people down. But you usually have to go to a political forum or some other discussion area to actually be exposed to it. By contrast, the left doesn't seem to recognize there is a time and place for things. The JU right wingers may shout people down on JU but t
hmmm....what I find interesting (to Maurice the anonymous), is that the left can still come here, free of charge, and post, for the most part, anything that they want. But let a rightwinger go to DU, and have him/her post something, and see just how long they last. By far, I see the left want to shut up those who oppose them. Just look at how Christians are viewed, or...look at how the pro-life, or the anti-gay marraige folks are lo
I think the only thing that matters to the dems (most of them, at any rate), are getting the "amens" from their left-wing, anti-war supporters. It doesn't matter to Murtha or any other left-wing nut what they say, as long as their "side" accepts it. And, we all know that the left loves to do the trashing, no matter what fact may or may not be known. "Cold blooded murder"....he should be ashamed of himself. Especially with the talk of his time in servic
my 4 year old, in Head Start, said something at school that I find very interesting (as most 4 or 5 yr olds wouldn't say something like this). The teacher said he said this, and in fact, says things like this all the time. He was going to one of his classes (speech therapy, I believe), when he saw a little boy in a wheel chair. Christian (my son) said: Look, that boy is in a wheel chair. He cannot walk, but if he could, he would want to."
War is War.....there should be no rules....it is as simple as that. When we try to "civilize" war, we only make war easier to turn to. If we went to war with the mind and thought of death & destruction (not shock & awe), then this war would have been finished a long time ago. I do not understand why ppl want to make war a "pretty thing". Bahu, that is what you are doing, and you are attempting to hold the US to different standards than our en
19 by MythicalMino Fri, May 26, 2006 07:33 AM The USA is at war against Terrorism...please, get that right at least, since nobody else on the left seems to understand. I get this, so I assume you meant this for someone else. MM, I was talking to Bahu....sorry about the
The training continues. I think they are both coming along very nicely as far as the housebreaking goes. Both can "hold it" until I get them outside. And now, they usually go to one of the doors if they need to. Brute doesn't seem to want to always go to the correct area in the backyard, but Massacre always does. I have also gotten them trained to sit when before I give them their food, and to sit before I open the door to the outsi
There may not have been Al Qaeda involvement in Iraq....BUT....WMD have not been so easily proven/disproven. So please spouting off that it is fact that there were never any WMD in Iraq. Besides....America is at war with terrorism...not just Bin Laden & Al Qaeda. Iraq did have terrorism within its borders...and in fact, it was state sponsored terrorism. Just ask those who lost their eyes, arms, legs, wives, brothers, sisters, fathers, and hus
I like the lyrics in one of Mellencamp's songs: Be careful of those who kill in Jesus' name And those who don't believe in killing at all Walk tall War is war....and until certain ppl realize that...well...America will continue to have its gut eaten from the inside out.
I also wanted to make the point of...I think they both realize "who" I am. At least they really listen to me pretty good. Especially Massacre. Brute...he has a will that I see is going to be a tougher nut to break. He is doing ok walking with me in the back yard now, though.
thanks for the advice....we were already planning on going to the obedience classes. Actually, as far as Massacre being dominant...I am not so sure. Sure, I do not doubt that that action may be thought of in that way. But he will let my youngest boy (3 yrs old) walk him, and Massacre will stick right to his side, and not pull him. Brute on the other hand...
that dog at the link looks more Pit Bull than ours do. In fact, ours doesn't have really much Pit Bull look at all...only brief shades if they turn their head a certain way to look at you.
duh....the link: http://dogbreedinfo.com/americanbandoggemastiff.htm
Tova: Oh, believe me....I was concerned when I was told that the mother was Pit Bull. But, I have also found out that it is a common mix. The point I was trying to make, though....sure, many pit bulls are "bad" animals. But, my in-laws have a mutt (black lab mixed with God knows what), and a Saint Bernard. Both of those dogs are pretty mean, and the mutt has actually nipped at one of my boys. They also at one time had a dalmation...and that dog was one
oh, i know that dogs can bite...and I was also very hesitant when I was told about the Pit Bull in them. But, I have read quite a bit about this breed, though. This is actually a very common mix...Pit Buill & Bullmastiff. The two of them, though, are very lovable....VERY good with both my kids. Jake climbs all over them both (especially the black one), and it doesn't even seem to phase the dogs... I understand your point of view....an
all the dog-lovers here on JU, and no one is interested in these experiences? hmmm....oh well...
This evening, I decided to sit out on the front porch with my two pals. It was interesting, because there is such a difference in their personalities. For instance, Massacre (brown)has to stand over anyone of us that happens to be laying on the floor. He doesn't do much other than stand over the person (or, dog) that is on the floor, looking down every so often. Brute (black) is happy to just "be there". It is almost like Massacre looks at hi
So far, I am very pleased with them. My youngest boy climbs on them, rolls all over them, sits on them...and all they do is just lay there, wagging their tails. In fact, there has been a few times when Jake has been laying on the ground crying (for whatever reason), and the brown one (Massacre) would stand over him, watching down on him. Why? I don't know...but I could imagine that maybe because he was "protecting" him. I don't know. But I do
This morning, I got them both to "do their thing" outside in the designated area (out by the shed). Massacre went with no problem...but Brute? Well, he is somewhat stubborn, I guess. Massacre went right to it, without wasting any time. But Brute, I had to stay out there with for quite a while, and even then, he wouldn't. So, back inside we went after about 30 minutes. I fed them, and then Brute started sniffing around where they have gone in
My wife has wanted a certain breed of dog for several years (actually, longer than I have personally known her). Myself, I have wanted a Collie…you know…Lassie and all of that jazz. But the breed of dog my wife has wanted? When people ask me, "What type of dog is that?" I answer them with this: "Just think, ‘Domesticated Bear’". Oh, yeah…what type of dog is that? Bull
my wife and I have started some of the training. We took them outside in the back yard (we have a pretty decent sized backyard), and walked them around on their leash. They seem to be pre-disposed (is that the right word?) to walk right along with us. Although, Brute (the black one) gets kinda excited and wants to "switch" sides. But, we are working with them to have them sit automatically everytime we stop while we are walking. They did pretty good...
