the reason they are protected so well in real life is because they are very important. losing one means you lose a whole lot of force-projection capability, as you are not just losing a ship, you are losing 200+ aircraft. even though a modern carrier could be sunk be a single WWII torpedo.

Simmons : No wait, monkeys...monkey pirates. Shiela : Nope. Simmons : From..Uranus. Shiela : My logical data analasys sector indicates that would be highly unlikely, and my bullshit meter agrees.
but its the light raids they are designed in mind for. the ones with 5-10 seiges. besides, we know that normal sins is very defense-weak. that's what Entrenchment is for.
Grif : Come on, Sarge, he doesn't even have a gun. Simmons : Oh, well, you two will be great friends, then. He doesn't have a gun, and you didn't bring any ammo! Grif : Hey, thanks, kiss-ass! If I wanna take guarding tips from the guy that lost our last prisoner, I'll be sure to ask you! Donut [to Simmons] : Oh, man, that is a burn! Dude, you just got burned! Burned,
also another simple way to beat circling carriers: split your force and go around each way. they can't escape with ships behid them and in front.
The Vasari battleship is a pretty monster damage dealer with its weapon cooldown reduction ability and its ultimate infects enemy ships with volatile nanites and makes exploding ships damage their nearby buddies. The Vulkoras desolator is great early on against frigates with its high damage phase missile swarm ability
and if you combine the two, you get the Vasari's big intsa-fleetkill combo. it works best with 2 Devastators and 3-4 Desolators, if ur against a lar

Advent - strong shields, weak hull; weak but many strikcraft; most powerful in abilities, least in weapons; strong culture (damage bonus in-culture) TEC - weak shields, strong hull; medium strength and number of strikcraft; more powerful in straight dps than abilities; Strong economy (pervasive economy) Vasari - medium shields, medium hull; high strength but few in squadron strikcraft; medium dps and abilities; Best phase research (phase gates, RA)
one I've seen on the forums, but don't know the meaning of: IMO
"I am the Prophet of Truth! The voice of the Covenant!" "And so you must be silenced." *gurgle*
eh, navy might be denying it, but I doubt it. While it was purported as true in the magazine, it was mainly a humor based one. so I see how this may have just been accepted. "The only thing half as melancholy as a battle won, is a battle lost."
it's effective against seige frigs, which is the main reason for them. that and to support a defending fleet
Dwarven language. it's from the Inheritance series(eragon), actually. I used the same username for the forum on that, but decided not to change it for here (easier to remember) and 18 hours is the longest game I've played.
quoting post Does anyone have a mod that increases the size of your fleet and capital ships you can build? I wanted to paly a big long drawn out galaxy domination game... I'm new too sins and don't know anything about modding, but i have played some cool mods so far.. Hey fuzed1 Do you still want a mod for this, I'm only asking because I have done on
well, maybe the funniest. how's about this one? The President : Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in this history of mankind. Mankind -- that word should have new meaning for all of us today. <span style="f
I have IE, and it was a little while since I've checked them. note: just checked search, turned up 0 results on the first two things I checked. searched for "Korigul", "Remnants", and "Sins". in that order. Remnants is part of the name of my story in sins general, Korigul the main ship so far. "Sins" turned up three pages, so I'm not sure how it works anymore. does it search titles, content, or what?
I was the same - my first cap was space egg, and the rest were pure combat ships. I learned the lesson of the second Jarrasul the hard way - against a chicken TEC fleet that would not stop running whenever I put one ship in its grav well. now it's space egg - Devastator -space egg, in that order. I always max my cap usage, eliminate theirs, and love using the Volatile Nanites+Phase Missile Swarm combo. their fleets are simply devastated. ended up fin
you only got one Jarrasul? always get two. always. it lets you decimate fleeing fleets, having alternating gravity warheads.
it comes from experience. against a hard AI, huge TEC fleets prove no problem, but the Advent are sometimes a different story. its been too long since i've played against them (i play random enemies, and my last 3 games, i haven't encountered an Advent ship. my 18 hour game i had one as an enemy, but they were destroyed before I even saw them)
then I'd say find where the two strong empires' fronts meet, and hit one of each of their planets. the AI will always break off any attack to rescue their planets, as long as they have some form of sizeable force. I would suggest pitting the AIs against each other with bounty. (i.e. place a decent sum on each, to start a bidding war between them. another idea is to use an extremely strong counterattack. as soon as you fight off an attack, follow that fleet
build hangar defense on the beseiged planet, take your closest protecteed frig factory and build 15-20 carriers en mass . all fighter. or if you have phase stabilizer and RA, then use that a couple times instead. its how i usually build my fleet. as a result, I end up with 50 or so lasuraks.
yes, and yes. although the Vasari fleet is quite powerful when it hits the fleet cap. the best bet to beat it is an Advent fleet, with the "culture cannon" damage bonus. TEC is a bit harder to defeat it, though.
