oh, well, this is the first for me lol, never had this issue before, but then again, we probably use different apps LOL
MichaelG04_NEW
still not getting it. i use windows built in feature to change the physical location of Documents folder. so any application looking for %user%/documents goes to the specified location. all other applications i am having no problems with, just object dock. like in xp, if u used tweakUI to change the My Documents folder, all your other applications will still fucntion normally, and still goto my documents correctly, however, OD does not, it could be a bug with OD and Vista, i don't know. but
then your not understanding what i'm talking about, i'm moving the location of documents folder, with windows. windows still knows where it is, as do other programs that use the documents folder, so far only OD doesn't realize it's moved, and like i said, it keeps placeholders for all the other backgrounds, but they are all blank, so it kind of sees it. i wouldn't just move a folder, and expect it to remember where the stuff is LOL, that makes no sense
well, thats what i did, moved everything to the program files folder. but i just tested another thing, i kept the files on the same drive, just moved location with the location tab in document properties, but still the same problem. i mean, i have it working, i have everything in teh OD program files directory right now, but it's been nice having it in documents, for when i reformat, i don't forget to back that up LOL, but i don't seem to remember to backup the OD directory. i assume it's an
i'm just saying, it would give me personally more incentive to buy master skins. i spend alot of time daily piecing together themes, and it would be nice to have this feature. of course it would take longer to boot, but it's an option, and u wouldn't have to use it, ya know?
i'm running vista ultimate, and i keep documents folder on another drive. so i goto the folder properties, and click move, and move the folder to where i want it. then i install object dock, and it sort of sees the folder, but not really. none of my images are there, but i know it sees something, because all of my backgrounds are sort of there. there are a bunch of empty selections that do nothing, like 30 blank selections, all of which do nothing. i move it back to c:/users/me/documents/o
yes, but it would still be a great functionality of the apps, i mean, icon packager allows u to do this, and thats the only stardock app with it, why not have this feature?
it would be really cool if there was a way, on boot up, or shortcut or something, to apply a random theme from theme manager that i have created and pieced together from many different things. this keeps me from buying master skins, because i'm always looking for a new skin to use on a daily basis, and when i don't see a new WB posted, i go find a suite that i've used b4. i don't normally go back to a WB i've used, because then i have to manually configure each skinnable app i use. is there a
well, thanks, i did search before i posted, got the same results you gave me a link to, none of them pertain to my problem, and none seem to even be associated with ODP, but thanks.
always on top. now, before you say, thats yoru problem right there, then how come it turely doesn't stay on top of the remote desktop window all the time? for remote desktop, it should default to normal, since in effect, your on another pc. normal doesn't work, then it's always behind other windows, and i like being able to see it. i think it's a slight bug, because either way, it's not always on top, or always behind the remote desktop window
when u first lauch remote desktop, it is on top of objectdock as it should be. but if i minimize it, then restore it fullscreen, objectdock stays on top and i can't get to the minimize titlebar uless i click on the objectdock bar, then click on the current remote desktop session and it hides objectdock again. is there a fix for this, it's been like this for quite some time, and i remember some work was done, because objectdock was always on top, so i've been waiting patiently, but it's
what about x64 vista support for windowblinds?
just wondering if there is an ETA on a vista x64 version of WB? i really want to install the 64 bit version of vista, but i can't live without WB. thanks michael.
what about adding some sort of randomize feature, so i can build complete suites, and when i reboot, have it randomly pick one? that would be very cool...
ah bummer, ok then, i'll keep a lookout, i didn't even think to look in the readme. i've never used a 64bit machine b4, so i'm a little new with all that. thanks
i've noticed that windowsblinds doesn't run under vista 64 bit. why is this? it keeps telling me i have to reboot, but that doesn't work. here is the exact message this machine must be rebooted after installing this version of WB5. if you have rebooted and still get this message, you may need to disable any registry protection / anti spyware apps you have and reinstall windowsblinds as they may be incorrectly preventing the install. thanks
well, nevermind, i just saw that it is now in windowsblinds 5.5. but still no repsonse? weird lol, thanks
i have just installed Vista final Ultimate edition from my MSDN account, and was wondering if there is goign to be an alpha/beta release of style vista on object desktop? or anywhere else for that matter. thanks Michael.
i really dig this, now that i figured out hte 2 different suites, one was named holloween, duh i'm an idiot. anyways, i like the widget from the halloween suite applied with the rest of the RIP suite. great job guys
yep, that did the trick, kewl stuff
well, i installed that one second, and now i have RIP and RIP 1 in theme manager, both are the same though. i'll remove them manually and re-install the 3.0 exe.
i installed that, i have the WB theme, icons, 2 gadgets, clock and calendar, and a wallpaper that was all installed with the installer, i also downloaded the pack from my wincustomize account, i tried both versions. " and some fun ghost and jack-o-lantern gadgets that make eerie Halloween sounds when you click on them! " don't seem to be included in either package that i tried.
well, the suite is awesome, but i don't see any gadgets that make any eerie sounds, just a calendar and clock. are those missing?
man wish i had a copy for my vista install LOL
so, anything? i've got repsonses on thenewgroups that says it doesn't happen for everyone, so i'm willing to run tests, give debug info, whatever it takes to try and help stardock fix this bug. please contact me. thanks Michael.
