This is different from commanding your troops like an RTS. The creeps are still, for the most part, uncontrollable critters that run around and fight for you. They still act as an endless stalemate that waits to be broken by the Demigods. This isn't a full RTS style control scheme, but some amount of control would be most welcome. I like the idea of preset waypoints that you can change between. I don't like the
MaRiO-
im gonna try to host some games tonight maybe i can get enough people
if they charged you then you probably got in There are some guides on the forums that say what your suppose to do inorder to install the game try checking of of those out
I thinking this weekend maybe will be the best time since it so close 2 christmas in order to get a full 5v5
well looks like sean beat me to the post of was just about to make.. LOL this is basically the idea I came up with where controlling flags give you war ranking instead of just capturing them. I also suggest that the flags that you hold for an extended period of time increase exponetially the longer you keep and put more emphasis on flags that are centralized and close to both teams and for a team to control these flags will give much more war ranking than that other flags that ar
Quoting Tofi007, reply 20How about giving War Score for destroying enemy buildings, and giving some instant War Score for capturing an enemy flag (the amount could be based on the time elapsed), not just for holding it. That way a skilled team could turn the tide of a losing battle by a well organized offensive. I like the concept of the war score system. However, I don't think capturing flags should give score.
ya i seen the devs they responded in one of my other posts :) I might check out that IRC i forget they had that And I want to debate with the devs because i want to know what there thinking and where they are going so I can come up with ideas that fit there plans.
Maybe you shouldnt be able to control your main creeps and only the flag portals you get. I think thats more fair. O just got an idea or maybe you can implement this into the citadel upgrades and make it allow you to alter the paths and the extend be based on how many upgrades you have on it. Maybe on the first upgrade you can alter only 1 rally point 2nd upgrade 2 etc. I like that idea
Just a quick thought; why not make it so that only creeps can take flags? That way keeping your creeps alive in the beginning is actually extremely useful, and pushing throughout the game is really critical.
I like this idea..Maybe i can expand on this
that would be stupid because generals would have an advantage.
then you just dont allow the gen
well thats three people [e digicons]:)[/e] seven more to go
I want to try to setup a 5v5 game at sometime. I want to test out a couple different strategies and play a real game not with the A.I. I also want to test the lag and latency when there is a full game. So who is down? i want to try to setup a time where we can get together and play
Agree with above statement But I think that the citadel spending is getting a makeover but yes I would like to have that information available
I am not really sure what you guys mean by open maps, but when you are talking about the skill involved what you really need is different elavations and different fog of wars so you can preform jukes. And I really disagree with the hidden flags that only the experience players know about and the new players do not. That sir does not bring more depth to the game just an unfair advantage imo.
Plz for the love of god add this in the next patch This gets really annoying after a while
I want to make a list of just general things that people want added and try to gather the ideas in a central place. I guess ill just collaborate some of the ideas I have come up with. 1. Fixes to the minimap that make it more interactive and just improve it overall 2. I want the generals to have more control of the battle, but still not sure exactly how I want this implemented 3. I want a change to the current flag system, I have some ideas but I am still thinking
I like that idea, Just dont know if it would work. I really do not want the generals to have a direct control over the creeps but more of an indirect control if you understand what im saying. All I know is that I really want my generals to have at least some control on the creeps and really be masters of pushing.
Those are the settings I have been playing with. Mostly because they resemble DotA the most [e digicons]:P[/e] But ya these setting lead to the more depth kinda but I really like how the Devs allow us to change specifics of different categories. I think they should expand on this. In DotA all we have is Easy mode and regular mode where easy more gives you more gold and makes towers easier to kill and do less damage but nice to see what can speifically set what we want
I just brought up as a possible buff to the generals that makes alot of sense and really makes them feel like there generals. And Like teseer said I think it would rock for coordinated teams and add a bit of depth to the gameplay. Just a thought
Nice to see the devs show up!! [e digicons][/e] I guess I just want to hear there opinions on some of the points I made in my posts and I am interested in seeing the next update and the changes to the gameplay and balance you guys come up with. And to the people that want to setup a game I am down to play, but i might be busy these next couple days so hopefully we can get a time. I am willing to play with whoever I just want to know how the game plays without t
I am down to play if we can set up a time. I can play practically anytime lets get a 3v3
First of all I just want to say nice feedback from all Regarding Random_Guy's Post This is basically the system that I was trying to explain and you did a pretty good job explaining it. I think that this system leads to a pretty deep game. I just think that what ever systems that we come with the main focus should be on Teamwork. This is what has made DotA so great. In DotA, even if you were an amazing player with all the skill in the world, it would not matter if your did not
DotA didn't become so popular because it was made to be competative, it became popular because it was entertaining and you could just hop in a game and enjoy it without much brainwork. Then it became competative because it was popular. That's why I said that Demigod first needs to be entertaining then it can be competative. I'm not against competition, I'm just trying to show you why DotA is still being played. It's
My only possible response to this is lets play and I will show you that strong heroes will lose everytime. As it should be I might add Edit: This picture should explain my point fairly enough
The thing is every game could be a "competative" game, it's not about how "competative" a game is, but how popular it is. Every AoS style map (from Warcraft3) could be played just as competatively as Dota. The masses just picked Dota and soon it became what it is today. I agree with you on the catapult stuff, you really need those, but saying "the players have no direct impact on the game at all" is completely stupid, early game you shou
I thought I read that Frogboy said they werent going to use gold for citidel upgrades, instead using points from flags.
If this is true then it just becomes a battle of the flags and considering that the creeps dont really get close to the flags in the first place this makes them that more unimportant and useless and still leaves an unbalenced game towards hero killers, which im pretty sure is not the way the devs are trying to l
