The good: no more intrusive and hidden "software/driver./..." installed without your consent. The bad: cannot play offline. period.
Yep, that pretty much sums it up. Sure, not everyone will like the new way Ubisoft is taking. But people have to realize that the old way was definitely worse for the loyal, honest customer.
Spooky__
Gamestar reported , that Square Enix publicly announced the release date of Supreme Commander 2 in Europe: March 5th . Also check out the new screenshots that were released together with this announcement.
Also try setting your windows speaker configuration to "Desktop Stereo".
I'll look at getting this added to the base install if you guys want.
That would be nice :). As a Mod or integrated into the dgdata.zip ?
How so?
SecuROM puts files on your system for the decryption of the CD/DVD signatures etc.. SecuROM can and will cause problems on systems where 'explicit congestion notification' is activated in Windows Vista certain disk mounting software is running or certain debugging software is installed even though you have a legal copy of the game. Some games do not uninstall SecuROM properly, so you have to use the SecuROM Rem
No, I've never used PlayerTrack, so I dont know how it works or anything
Even if you don't use it, you will be tracked by other players. If your nickname is Tagster/Anarky_Veleiro in Supreme Commander, then I can see the following information for example: you have been tracked in 32 Games, you won 4 out of 16 finished games, you have been marked as "Do not play" by 4 out of 19 PlayerTrack users etc. Some people complain about PlayerTrack too, mainly because of the high DNP value
Simply host games titled as "everyone welcome" or "noobs welcome" etc., or join ones that are titled as such, and you should be fine. Or mix it up with Pantheon a little.
Dont show fecking stats.
This won't change anything, because you can still view the stats on pantheon.demigodthegame.com . And most people would not want stats to go away completely. I personally love stats ;). I even start playing Forged A
Yeah, let's hope Pantheon gets a little bit more playable now. But still, I think they should change it entirely, as described above. Or at least comment on it ;).
In my opinion it's way better than any CD/DVD based copy protection.
I have already tried being nice to trolls like this before and that didn't work. Trying to be sensible to him is pointless.
Then don't reply at all.
Now you can lock this topic and ban my account because I will never play a Stardock game
The game was made by GPG.

Count me in, downloading right now.
I think he uses 5 to lead into 6. Piracy breaks expectations for maximum server stress loads.
The problem at launch was, that pirated copies flooded their login server with requests, which brought the server down. They couldn't actually log in to online multiplayer though. And a copy protection will not prevent piracy, Stardock knows that.
5. Use standard copy protection on the games (but not extreme like Spore)
Err, why?
You can view Demigod's player activity here: dgstats.insidesupcom.de
Well, instead of removing Crucible or 1v1s (again) they should completely revise Pantheon on their backend, so that we can have more players in Pantheon again and thus Crucible 1v1 will not happen as often.
Ah, keep in mind that the Off-Topic forum spans across all Stardock forums, not just the Sins forums ;). Your post would have made more sense in the Sins context.
Tugor: it's probably primarily because of your low game count. Just get into some noob games to get your count up again ;).
How long did the last pantheon last? About 3 months? Well, by my reckoning this one'll take ~6 months to end, if ever, so that's how long a break Im taking from DG. Hope there is still anything of a community to come back to. TTFN.
Almost 2 months (From: Dec. 9, 2009; To: Jan. 22, 2010). Yeah, something should definitely be done
What game are you talking about? Homeworld 2?
Well that sucks :(. They did not even change the favor points winning goal.
No reply from Stardock and they just started another Assassins vs. Generals Tournament :(
What you guys think, is there any excuse to do that?
It's a good point and I find it annoying too sometimes. It's fine if the teammate knows what he is doing in the long run and therefore hopefully thinking of his teammates too.
Well it shouldn't happen that often though.
