This is a big well respected site and I personally have no issues running a utility that they provide. As the saying goes, put up or shutup.
portforward.com's tool "PFConfig" supposedly has a trojan/virus in it. Though it could be a false positive due to the nature of the program. PFPortChecker is fine.
Lots of the complaints I've read on these forums were from people saying "That &*#@ kept feeding the enemy!". Course, if their new players they will "feed" (some it will take weeks to learn not to). I can just imagine if you can ban people for being noobish, yikes. "That Noob cost me the game, and would'nt listen to me, he's going on the ban list!"
Indeed. And it's not only about noobs. What about people who
If it's anything like War3 Banlist then it's not as harsh as you guys imagine. If someone has banlisted a certain player you get a warning, possibly with a reason. IF multiple persons have that one banlisted (not sure what the cap was) you can allow the tool to kick them, or warn you of that. THat's about it.
What do you mean by "that's about it"? That's as harsh as it can get. Banlists are a stupid idea and will lead to griefing and there

With that much crew aboard, spaceships probably have the molecules to clench a thirst for long period of times.
Hm, I don't quite understand what you mean by that ;). All I'm saying is, that I don't like the 'design' of the engineering room. It's dirty and cluttered and nothing seems to make sense yet. It's the complete opposite of what we had before. In TNG etc. it was as neat as the rest of the ship and you could think of a
Everywhere I see people recommending opening 6000-6200 or such. Why so many ports? ImpulseReactionOptions only needs a range of 20. I have other games that use some of those ports that I play on another computer.
Yes, you only need to forward the port range you have defined and the hosting port (6073 by default). Everything for UDP.

I once was in a Pantheon game with a guy who constantly told me: "call miss". I asked what he meant and then he bitched about how I am a noob and feeding the enemy (ignoring the fact that I made 2 kills and he made none). His explanation was still unclear after that and I always thought he told me to call a spell called 'miss'. After all, this is Demigod, an RTSRPG. What he actually meant was, that I should notify him, if my "lane opponent" was "missing" and therefore probably ganking

If it doesn't show up in "My Games", does it show up under "Registrations" in your account at all? (I don't have an Impulse client available right now, I don't know where to find the Registrations tab exactly.)

@Xclaim: which Firmware version do you use for the Router? I found some other manuals from the D-Link site for the DI-634M where the Interface looks completely different and where it is also possible to define port ranges for port forwarding.
Well, that solution only relies on port triggering. In theory, this would only work in some cases, since the port is only open to him, when I makes a connection

Preferably one where you can put DD-WRT or Tomato on ;). However, I don't believe you are only able to set 5 virtual servers only..? @MishYu: I would suggest to e-mail Stardock Support about this and give them all the information they need (Impulse account name and PayPal e-mail address). They will resolve it pretty quick.
thanks for your help, it is very much appreciated. doing 6112:6180 doesnt work. so i have to do 40 ports for my computer as i have been using impulsreactoroptions to do 6112-6140..
You only need to define 20 ports with ImpulseReactorOptions.exe. So do that and spare yourself some ports to put in ;). Also reset the Firewall rules to default. You shouldn't mess around there, unless you know what you are doing.

Port Forwarding is configured under " Virtual Server ".
I've noticed that few people know you can press P wherever your mouse cursor is to create a blue circle signal on the minimap ( together with an alarm sound). That way you can get your allies attention towards hot spots and events. And next time pay attention to that BLUE CIRCLE will ya?
Yeah, it's handy. However, the duration for one ping is too low imho and the Ping should also be visible on the map itself, not
One of the best movies I have ever seen. Stays true to the Star Trek movie formula (less emphasis on philosophy, more on candidness, action, and a clear antagonist). People who argue that it's too much action and not enough depth clearly do not know Star Trek very well. The tv shows contain all the philosophy and diplomacy and moral gray areas. The movies are almost entirely good vs. evil romps through space (except for the first one, but that
