Ok :). The only thing I could suggest here is to temporarely uninstall the antivirus completely, just to rule it out (even if deactivated, the antivirus might have done something "bad" to the network stack). Do you have any other software installed, that might have some influence on networking? Netlimiter or any Software from your cable ISP.
Spooky__
Yeah, listchecker only announces the game on Battle.Net too and does nothing else. No real network trickery there. It's just to make the default net lag go down from 250 ms to 100 ms (Demigod's default net lag is 350 ms btw.). Listchecker would not help Demigod's network issues in any way.
Why do you have to use listchecker in the first place?
I love you Stardock, but there is no other RTS out there where I have to forward 100 or 200 ports. That seems beyond unnecessary. Even via your own post you indicate that in Supreme Commander people only needed to forward ONE: 6073 (UDP I assume). Why does Demigod need a range of at least 100, if not more? I assume these ports are UDP, but unfortunately, most of the time this information is omitted in posts explaining what we need to d

You get lag spikes in the game, because there is lots of data transferred from you to every other player. And yeah, that's really terrible upload speed. I think you need about 25 kbit/sec per player in the game. So for a 2v2, you need 75 kbit, but for a 3v3 you already need 125 k

Forwarding port 6000 won't change anything, since I already tried being directly connected to the Internet (DMZ of the router modem), but it doesn't change anything (same thing happens, according to the ImpulseReactor.log). Hm, I can't edit my posts in this thread. The long original thread title seems to break that or something. Test your bandwidths at speedtest.net .

I have the ports forwarded and the current beta build of Demigod is already using step 1 (direct connect). However, in order to be able to direct connect, you first need the connection information of the other player in order to directly connect them. You get that info from the NAT facilitator.
// bah, forum was weird again
In that case it should route you to a proxy which will be able to connect. But if you can't connect to the proxy..
I am not sure if that will be the case. As far as I understand it, every player must connect to the NAT facilitator at some point, to get any connection information in the first place. Be it for direct connect, NAT faclitation or proxy connect.
Ping spikes can be caused by insufficient upload bandwidth. There are quite a few people out there with low end DSL connection for example who have very limited upload bandwidth, and they can only play with 3 other people (2v2) and nothing more. Those people who said, that you wouldn't have been able to get into the lobby due to insufficient upload bandwidth do not know what the are talking about ;). Also this has nothing to do with "the slowest user".
And what's with the people that cannot connect to the NAT facilitator in the first place? :( I know that CariElf is on my case, but I am still worried if this will ever be resolved for me.
Do others really see it as 0 as well? Because since the recent update(s), your own Sim Speed will always be displayed as 0.
Star Trek isn't necessarely more realistic. Star Trek is just pure science fiction, whereas Star Wars combines science fiction with fantasy.

I completely agree with Daikaze. Archers and Tower of Light are very important in the beginning. But I do find the Trebuchet a bit useless. Especially since it misses most of the time, when your rook is moving.
