MP players mostly play the different sized randomly generated single star maps, which DO end up going a small variety of ways. As n3rull stated there are specific strategies people HAVE to go with in these types of games to survive, because all players are generally within a few phase jumps of each other. However, I don't agree with this assessment DEFINING MP. THis is only one type of game (albeit the most popular on MP). If you want a game where you can feel free to exercise many di

Advent Colonize = Planetary upgrade cost reduction Vasari Colonize = Reduction in structure build time. TEC Colonize = Free extractors , Reduction in planetary upgrade build time. This way TEC can spend much less time suffering from underdevelopement taxes, and can quickly get a new planet fully upgraded. Plus is falls in line with the kinda of things the others do.

I agree with n3rull and Juletron here. Phasing out your own cap ship only serves to delay the inevitable. If your ship could move while phased out, then it would certainly be worth while. BUt as it can't, then its like N3rull said, you may as well just not have a cap ship there. POH is definitely a weak and mostly useless ability (with exception of disabling channeled abilites), compared to anything else that has similar effects, it just blows. Also, Repulse should cert

Name calling doesnt get you anywhere Ericted. Neither does making irate, insulting posts. Just makes people who know what they're talking about feel sorry for you in your ignorance. People appreciate civility, and would be much more likely to help you and listen to what you have to say if you would excercise a bit of it.
f your game was 2v2, that means u had an alli. so why didnt u call on ur partners help to hit his home planet while ur defending yours, then he should retreat to his home while u chase him down with ur fleet and cripple him. duh
Um, did you read past the first half of the first sentence? because the rest of the sentece stating the gaem was called 2v2 says
it was my first time online and i was a bit nervous. one guy joined, and not wanting to wai

As darvin said, Pirates are wonderful for your caps experience. Often during the first few waves of pirates ill station my cap ship in orbit around a planet I know theyll attack. My cap ship can take them on all alone given a repair platform or two, while the rest of my fleet does things that need doing. (like defending another planet or helping a different cap ship clear a gravwell of militia.)

TEC have sabotage reactoron their LFs, which, unlike interference on skirmishers, disables abilities when they are activated, and damages the unit that activated them. Thats 1 thing thats supposed to work against them (but unfortunately again the repulsion range is too much). Also LRMs are one of very few ships that outrange repulse, ideally using lrms in conjunction with designate target is another thing that should work fairly well, but often a second guardian comes along and repulses the l

The way it seems to be set up (at least in my head) is that you have guardians who have repulse, which nullifies the power of HCs. The vasari answer this with distortion field, in which the subverter enters phase space where repulsion has no effect so it can get in close and disable the entire(or most of) battle ball. The advent answer to that is perserverance, which prevents 1 ship at a time from being disabled, allowing repulsion to remain active to protect the disabled fleet from HCs. This

Well good ideas all around. In the game though, when you destroy trade ships its says the player who destroyed it gets some resources, while the player whom it belonged to gets a decrease in income rate. Ive never observed this however, either because the resource swap is negligible or it doesnt actually work.

The desription of it says that it applies the damage it deals to the vulkoras's hull. Since it doesnt restore shields , Id assume that it shouldnt take from the targets shields so Im gonna say oversight.
Illums and flack is counterable
Theres currently only 1 unti that can stand up to illums and its flak. It just really sucks that if Im next to an advent player Ill get screwed unless I get a bunch of flak. But when guards come out with repulse its game over. I mean, yeah, illums are counterable, but by only 1 thing that isnt really supposed to counter it. Illums are OP simply by the overwhelming destruction they deal to their TEC and Vasari counterparts. Yeah theyre sup
But I do have to try that dunov rush... Anyone care to be in my team
wouldnt recommend using it against vasari phase missiles. you can restore shields all u want, but eventually the dunovs hulls will buckle. However emp blasts are a good way to drop advent shields.

Yeah currently most believe the current balance favors advent, forcing people playing other races to adopt specific startegies to combat the difficult to beat illum+repulse spam. Namely spamming flak frigates (taking advantage of the weak advent discple vessels) and attempting to trash the illums before a sufficient number of guardians with repulse can be produced.

Im gonna hazard a guess here.. but Im thinking that when they release diplomacy in beta, they'll have to update ICO... and ICO updates often come with game patches... so.. maybe a patch for vanilla and entrenchment when beta is released for testing? Certainly they must have adjusted things during diplomacy developement, or at least worked out a few more of those desync and miniD bugs, they'll likely put out a patch then to get entrenchment and vanilla up to speed. I hope im right.</p
i cannot speak for homeworld but in generally my other experiences in addition to the examples above have not been happy.
Homeworld worked extraordinarily well, I had very few complaints. Making Sins fully 3D would require a complete overhaul of the game engine and a lot of aspects of the game. But I think if they make a second Sins, they should try and tackle it.
