Ture that, isn't HALO the brain child of some people at Microsoft?
Brain and Microsoft in the same sentence? Wow, you've got guts =P anyway, in reference to the posts by Unknown924 and GrandAdmiralSova, the fact that we dont know exactly what an Isoton is, is not my problem. Those are the numbers. The fact remains that Star Trek was designed to investigate current moral and ethical issues, while giving a hopeful vision of the future (including the appointment of

Guess what? there is a brand new thread on the front page about Space Ponies... i really think someone should come and put up a sticky about Space Ponies, as well as a myriad of other things, Frogboy's Diplomacy Wishlist is one, but there are heaps of other topics that would be suitable to be made into stickies.

Far out, nothing against the OP, but can someone in power PLEASE post a sticky about Space Ponies? Honestly, i think in general, this forum would be much better served with more relevant stickies. To answer the question, it is completely random, ive been playing for about a year and a half, and i still havent found them, so if you are going on a hunt, best get comfortable
meh. Perhaps I should not have been sarcastic... but The point i was trying to make was that even more neutrals would mean vasari have an even better advantage.... and it would take no more than 5 scouts to capture that neutral frig factory long enough for them to start building a fleet... which would not have to travel 1/2 way accross the map to reach me, like it would if they built thier fleet at their home planet. (say... if the vasari was i

hey, golly gee whiz, thanks for icluding me, you guys started talking in technical terms, and im not much use there. i like the design (i have no creativity for original ideas, the things i day dream about i just pull from other Sci-Fi's and slap them together, so well done in the first instance) however, im thinking... the locations of the flanking autocannons... they dont seem to really fit with TEC design style... i was thinking, instead of having them evenly spaced on the

It might sound crazy... but what if the 2 expansions were made to interact seamlessly? So one player who has entrenchment has Starbases etc, the other player who has diplomacy has spies etc, but they dont have what the other player has, so i can fortify my systems and bring some major hurting on your fleets and systems, but you can sabotage my empire and idn whatever else IC has planned... i realise its VERY riskay, but if it works? Alternatively... they may need to ma
how do you know that it isn't the right wavelength/frequency/whatever to block transporters? this is an unknown. and we don't know all the properties of the Covenant alloys, except that they are extremely resilient. they may naturally have such a magnetic interference.
Because the magnetic interferrence would be on one 'frequency' only, while transporters can have their 'frequency' modulated, routed through other sensors, have the power boosted, etc etc.
So, its basically a capturable trading post...
Yeah, more or less... it acts like a resource asteroid, can be refined with orbital refineries for higher profit, but gives you credits instead of resources yeah, capturable frig factory could be good on larger maps, but instead of just the standard factory, make it a new structure that looks like 2 frig factories strapped together (im thinking of TEC factories, with support struts etc on the top joining the two of

So the thought just came to mind: A new kind of neutral extractor that gives a slight increase in credits instead of metal or crystal. The lore would be that precious metals or some other commodity would be mined from these asteroids/moons what-have-you, and, having no value in military or research-based applications, are sold straight to the market for a quick cash influx. Im not going to make any of those grand gestures saying i think this will really improve gameplay etc.</

1. atm, the only real way to win the game is to destroy all of the enemies planets, or destroy enough to make him surrender (depending on if you are playing entrenchment or not) as it stands, AI in entrenchment tend to surrender more than in the original version. However, with the new x-pack being developed, there will be new and different ways to win the game, i assume via culture, economy, and sabotage etc, at least 2. so, culture is spread by broadcast centers (each race is called

good idea, but each of those starbase beams is coming from one emitter (if you zoom right down to it, it looks like a 4 pronged, box like fork right?) so each prong of that fork is an emitter, which is why each of those beams can attack a different target. im not sure if this is what you mean or not, but i dont think the Kols beams should be able to target more than 4 targets at a time, i mean, how exactly are you splitting the beam to target each ship? its like splitting a bu

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Railgun knock yourselves out, some really interesting info there and btw, railguns have very little or no recoil. its basically a magnet pushing a heavy metal slug at very high speeds until it leaves the rails and then travels on its inertia. usually you only get recoil with explosive forces (like a standard cannon today)

no, hes making a semi-sarcastic post about how someone has brought carrier caps up again. i created a thread about it here http://forums.impulsedriven.com/357445/page/1 problem with boosting carrier caps is that early game, they are unstoppable. the number of SC they can field quickly is largely uncounterable, and forces you to tech up to flaks and carriers quickly, and makes LRF an endangered species <

Fleet Supply - Each level of fleet supply research increases the amount of tax on your credit and resource income. So if you do too much of t

i like that idea, it would very much add to the idea of experiencing a battle. if you lose by (just to put n arbitrary value and system in here) say, 10 points or whatever, but lasted for 3 hours and caused 5000 points worth of damage and casualties, while being outnumbered and outgunned (to hypothesise a worse case scenario) you would still have it recorded as a loss, but there would be some identifiers that tell other people that you put up a hell of a fight and despite the fact that you we
