I am playing the game on large map now and I easily got my credits up to 65+. The trouble I was having was I did not know where to build my labs/frigate factories. I am keeping 5 or so planets completely on trade routes. I also got my metal to hit 11+ and my crystal to hit 9+, as I made sure to indulge my resource rich neighbors with refineries. I don't build trade posts wherever because it seems counter intuitive to building a good, long trade route. Also, if my trade routes aren't par

Do not use LRF against carriers. Carriers more or less counter LRF because they can just run away. The vasari's skirms are really sturdy, so I use them, but I think even the disciples will do their job. Skirms/disciples/cobalts are more or less your carrier killer. If the opponent is spamming carriers, I keep the bulk of my fleet (carriers) on fighters and a few flaks to challenge the skies and strike the ground with skirms. Skirms can also steal anti-matter which will

So what is a good credit income rate then? I did feel that the resources could have been gathered faster, but I am not sure what a good one is. Also note, I owned every neutral extractor except one. I built orbital refineries in every planet that was near 3 asteroids.

Kol does 800 damage, but the mitigation afterwards goes up to 57%. So the second shot will do 344 damage (if instantly fired w/o cooldown), but the first shot will do 680 damage (factoring in 15% mitigation).

So I played a game and I felt really really slow. I am playing the vasari btw. I do not have any trouble with starting. However, I have a lot of trouble with mid game and lategame. First, I learned from my game today what RA does. It basically saves you 2000 credits each time you use it. However, what are the best frigates to supplement it? Spamming RA does not seem to be a smart idea because you get only cruisers. Similarly, subverters. I don't know how much they are
I'm sorry but that's the kind of post which really gets on my nerves.
If you had paid attention to his post instead of your nerves, you would find out that he had trouble updating the game. You can turn off pirates once you get the patch. Its in game options. Pirates are pretty lame once you figure out where they are going to hit. The scary part about them the first time is that you don't know so you have to build around everywhere. Standard build once you get 1.12 in usual game maps: Buy crystal, update infrastructure, build capital ship factory, queue your cap ship. Usually progenirator for advent, marza for tec, and Evacuator for vasari. Build crystal extracto
late game: By this point, if i havent made too many errors, and sometimes i still do, then the Vasari are usually smaller numbers and the Tec become my major adversary. Sometimes i have lost late game due to too many Tec numbers and miscalculations or losses that i cant recover from. But pretty evenly, i have good luck and have been able to overcome the Tec numbers, sometimes with more Illuminators, or with more stronger and more CapitalShips.<

This is soooo overpowered. Imagine a map where to get into another empire, you need to go through a planet that only has two phase lanes. One to go further in and one to enter. You block the entrance and that planet can never be entered ever. What if it was the only entrance? Well, tough luck, cuz there is nothing you can do except try to tech to superweapon (booooring). And even if its not, now there is no strategy. You juist put your defenses on your other frontier.</

A colony ship has two abilities. Colonize and build extractractors. Vasari's scouts have this second ability. Once you get 40 antimatter in your ship, they can make extractors on these non-colonizable planets. Its usually on autocast, but you can use it like any ability. So basically, just get a vasari scout or colony ship and stay in that neutral well until you get enough antimatter and it will build it.

Ok, semi seriously, is the Kol actually good at taking out fighters, specifically advent's, with its flak burst or is it better to just spend some money on flak frigates?

The difference is that marza doesn't have a strong defense and can be ripped down with focus fire. It takes you a loooong time to wipe out stuff and there is a significant cooldown to your ability so you can't just use it whenever. Since its channelling, marza also cannot use any other abilities (well, aside from its passive) or attack and the ability will stop instantly when it dies. So yeah, a Marza can rip down fleets and fleets of stuff quickly (comparatively) but you can destroy

Yeah, I guess I don't use my extractors very well because I don't get that much of a bonus. Just for refrence, what is your usually metal/crystal gathering rate (I know it varies map to map) in a medium size map?
.........2. Whenever you attack an enemy that has bounty placed on them and kill anything that enemy has (ie structures, ships, etc...), you get more credits based on what you kill. These credits come off of the bounty that is placed on that enemy.
<

Thank you very much for that explanation. I am aware that they are more metal and crystal heavy, but I do sometimes require a bit more cash and I was wondering if expert bounty hunting could solve that problem since trade routes are 4th tier. Also, I tend to focus primarily on military technology and I don't really know which of the vasari imperial tech's are good. So thank you for answering that as well.

I was going through the same problem. But then I just started using Marza playing more games and trying out different attack methods. It also helps that I have a friend to play with I guess. It takes a while but if you read around the forum, you should get a general concept of what each faction does.

So I heard Vasari can keep their economy going with just one Edit: empire lab. I think that was because Vasari has more money for completing bounty (Expert Bounty Hunting) research. But I don't really know how to put bounty/how I am supposed to use it. Can someone explain it to me?

9 Replies 7,358 Views

Once, I was having a hard time fighting two comps. And then I realized, why fight when I can just use Marza? And I did, and I won. I know tec the best atm. I am tending to more vasari though.

Ok, I have a question. Lets say you are surrounded by volcanics and ice planets and there is a terran planet/something you wanna colonize beyond it. Do you guys fly through the volcanics or do you stop and kill em so that later reinforcements or w/e don't have to keep dealing with the shenanigans? This goes along for sneak attacks as well.

It should be enough if the starbase have enough range that they can cover one phase lane completely. Phase jumping starbase is stupid imo.
