Distant Worlds is a pile of crap. Plus if you talk about another game you think is better than it over at that stupid Matrixgames forum the forum police come on (Erik the everready to scold you boy) and threaten you. Distant Worlds is so cartoonish and the worst 4x I ever saw. Now Galactic Civ 2 that's the best 4x space game evah. Those fanbois from Matrixgames can say what they will but they'll never be as good as us GC2 fanbois. ;) So just disregard the TROOL ElanaAho
That 1% figure is true for other games in the genre as well, not just EWOM. The only one I've ever played MP was AOW2SM, and that was becaue the SP AI was non-existant. Stardock games usually have at least somewhat of an AI.
Yeah Age of Wonders:Shadow Magic ai really suked. I played with max ai all on highest difficulty and I could take everyone of them out so easily. For the love

It's real simple to thwart this, just don't GRUNT RUSH stupid. Very simple to make one easy house rule. Don't attack anybody for 100 turns or an amount of turns deemed fair to the ai to give it an opportunity to grow.

Yes keep on fooling yourselves that it's not cheating, keep on showing your low IQ's lmao. Implementing anything from AI WARS would be a big mistake....fact and period. ;) But, then again why am I even discussing this with the likes of this bunch? Lmao I know Brad will not introduce anything as stupid as the AI WARS mechanics to THIS game.
However, a couple of spells, namely arcane arrow and spell blast are still overpowered. Even with the slight nerf in 1.09r I was able to blast through an entire army defending an enemy capital in one turn near the beginning of the game. I had four spell casters, my sov plus three others capable of arcane arrow but not spell blast. Also had four meat sheilds but never needed them. I opened the battle. By the end of my turn enemy sov and half the opposing army was dead t

Well if anything you showed how some things are just too overpowered. That sword needs some serious nerfing. Spells too as they shouldn't inflict such damage until the character is at near max levels. On the other hand the AI's should get these bonuses and gear as the difficulty level is raised. Playing hard they should have them and good hit points and powerful spells earlier than the human player. On extreme difficulty even worse. There should be FEAR if you play higher difficulty levels an

lol that 2.0gb is not the patch that's the size of the entire file. Mine says 2.26gb and it also says that at the top where the game is at the far right that it is 2.26gb total.

They should have used Master of Magics production scheme. It is quite simple and easy. Every so many population equaled a citizen to use for either making food or production or revolting if taxes were too high. Such a perfect system I don't know why Stardock wants to complicate things or make everything equal. I think the base citizen could make 2 units of food or 10 units of production then other bonus factors came into play to increase these like granaries for food and marketplaces for
I came here expecting a rant from someone who was unhappy with the state of Elemental, probably due to beta patches being beta. I'm much more pleased with what I found.
I would have been happier reading the rant. What a silly story. The thing he left out was then jarringly waking up in sweat and screaming "just one more turn,, just one more turn".
Uh... real life isn't turn-based to begin with, so....
LMAO Werewindlefr we finally agree on something. That was just soooooooooooooo funny kewl. Ummm I also disagree with taking out counterattacks for everyone later on. It's the only fair thing to do vs the AI. Allow simultaneous attacks even if the unit dies it should get it's swing and attack.

Oh yeah how quaint use just the 21st century let's go back to the 20th century where the most ai's were invented and used. Master of Orion II and even I have great AI's on NORMAL difficulty no cheating. Sid Meiers Alpha Centauri the same no cheating at normal difficulties. It's not 4x but proves my point about ai's today vs yesterday. AI WARS is nothing but a cheating game might as well just play Civilization on Emperor or any other game on maximum difficulty. That's not an AI it's just CHEAT

They should input a marketplace like in HOMM III I think it were. You could trade in your abundant resources for those you didn't have albeit at a large difference on a scale of how powerful those resources you were trading and the ones you were trading for were. Common abundance was wood and coal and if I recall the ratio was pretty high like 10:1 if you wanted to trade for something else like sulfur and gold I think was extremely high.
But in addition, perhaps we can have a new type of treaty that allows for heroes, sovereigns and pioneers to cross the border, but not regular army units?
I rather like another idea : SMUGGLING You can try to get SMUGGLED from one border to the other, you'll have to pay dearly for it and there's a random chance of getting CAUGHT and causing a WAR or a severe heavy fine or severe diplomatic repurcussions like losing trade agreements and no diplomatic con
but I think you should be able to learn 1st level spells (utilizing a lone Arcane Laboratory) in 8-12 turns, not 25.
I DON'T.....NUFF SAID! But I'll add some more anyways. Everything needs to sloooooooooow down in building up the empires. Games should take a longgggggggggggg time to finish not 5 minutes. So, keep it at 25 turns as that feels right to me.

Too many already complain about how easy the game becomes no use making it easier from the start. See. There is a difference between

Thing is though there should be NEGATIVE Karma so we can reduce some of these who give themselves karma all the time. Some karma sites do it right you can get + and - karma and you really gotta be nice on those forums for if you get enough negative karma you are banned.

Read my post in the balance thread. I don't want BALANCE it ruins these games. Master of Magic wasn't balanced and is still the best fantasy game out there. I don't want added micromanagement as it just bogs the game down and the AI can't handle it. All that needs improving is the AI and some tweaking to combat spells.
