1. I´ve got a pretty old system (a Pentium 4), and DL works *much* faster than DA or TA, even when I disable all difficulties as rotating parts & textures. DA is the worst... 5. Only at 100%. 6. The "Gigantic" galaxy size in DA has the most planets, in TA there is even a greater galaxy size "Immense" but it doesn't seem to have more planets in it, just greater distances.

I've never come across any "patch" - but there are some posts concerning these subjects (mostly on the MCC et al) that come off with an easy solution to correct that. It might work - but any game won't be MV legal anymore.
Spies help in planatary invasion!?
What I ment is following: Drop one spy on a farm - one turn before you invade. This will probably reduce your enemy's population. Or drop on moral structures & combine this with "Informational Warfare" - helps a lot. You can, of course, combine these 2 methods. btw, works in DA, too, of course.
wow - I used to put the Omega research centre on a planet basis, then re-read the description and reallocated to other planets. Turns out that the description is wrong ? Oh, well
Alot of these descriptions are either vague or sometimes also wrong. If you are not sure about something give it a search in the forums here, almost everything has been covered already.
Hey guys thanks for the responses. Now when I drop spies on enemy planets do I need to drop them on research buildings?
One problem with this particular method is that your spies will be eradicated very soon. You could move them around each turn, but sometimes even that doesn't help. And over time, the costs for reproducing spies just doesn't justify their costs anymore. Spies have a much better use in pla
Hey Sly, you can either steal a tech from the AI by invading a planet, or dropping a spy on him. The invading planet tactic works fairly well.... As for your second question - Mil SB don't have that function ever. But, if your Mil SB got attacked and suffered HP's, then you can send a constructor to it and it'll add +20HP to the base again. But if you want your ships repaired, there are 4 options left: Spend one racial point to the +20% repair bonus. Or built 'Mic
I've always un-checked these Fleet Battles and whatsoever, but the Terror Stars will work for me anyway....
One thing I found discouraging with projects like the Weather Control Zenith and Biosphere Modulator is that planet quality change is buggy. When using a +3 quality change value, I had strange results. I would get planets that upgraded tiles, but not the class. Or I'd get planets that upgraded the class and not the tiles. I finally gave up on the idea and removed those projects from my modded games.
I was under the impression the Omega research centre was supposed to give you a civ wide bonus to your research, NOT just planet specific ?
That would be phantastic, but no, the ORC is definitely "only" a planetary enhancer. Whereas the Hyper Computer and Nano Recorder are civ-wide.
Orion, I will always use those food-tiles, because I´ll go for 18b-20b people on each planet. The only thing you should never do is to cross the 20b line, because moral will fall increasingly - thus never place the +7b ppl end-farm on a 300% food-bonus tile. Instead, build an older version on it - using this, you'll be able to reach your desired population using only one farm - and also you'll have a cheaper building with a lower maint. If you have issues with moral &
The truth is, i rarely research my own weapons technology at all! Because the difficulty level i play, i have no hope in hell of keeping up, so there's no point! So i usually have several powerful weapon types at my disposal rite through the game because i have traded for them. I then focus my research on things like logistics and hulls and other things which the AI hates trading allot more than weapons, although i don't understand why?? Yo

The Planet Quality (PQ) refers to the number of useable tiles. As the grid for each planet is 6 tiles vertical * 12 tiles horizonal = 72 tiles. I wouldn't know how ~250 tiles would fit on my screen [e digicons]:P[/e]
Actually the max is 72. That had even be done in a non-mod game, but then the Arcean 'Weather Control' and Altarian 'Biosphere Modulator' had been changed to be undeletable.
Thinking about this thread last night I had a strange idea: What would happen if a ATT+1 Fighter attacks a DEF+500 ship w/o any weapons on it?
But I think what you ment is to somehow alter the way the game is played usually to give it another face. That's a pretty good idea. I think mostly interesting will this be when you un-check techtrade, and play out an ethical alignement. Like, when choosing "good" you are only allowed to have 1ATT vessels (but lots of defense therefore) and you're not allowed to declare war on anyone either. Evil won't be allowed to have trade-routes or defense, and no allies etc. Neutral hmmmm I donn
Modding is not cheating. Whom would "cheat" in a sandbox game anyway? Yourself.
Awesome! Getting really interesting now.
Since a year I have a HP w2448hc 24'' 1920*1200 native resolution. It was 400€ expensive but in the end all of its money worth. Even if my eyes are just 20cm distant from the screen I still can't see single pixels. The monitor has different modes, esp. the one for video (w/ dynamic contrast ratio on), photo (more "bright" pics and better colours), text (decreased brightness) are very fiting. They really make out a great difference. Plus the monitor has an ambient&nbs
