Hey, that´s a great story and nice you keep the power of the Yor high! I think it´s quite a good choice if you can´t conquer the galaxy militarily, and you got alot of allies, to then persue a Tech victory. Esp when playing in a large galaxy, because there the other option, the Influence Vic, is by far harder to do. Actually, in DL the Yor have an immense racial bonus of 25% in miniaturization, and I think they have the Ion Drive also right from

Hey, That all ships were outta range happened quite often in some of my games. The only solution I had was re-loading the turn, or even more backwards. Question: Where there any of your ships left who still would've been moved around by the autopilot? If yes, then here´s the reason why the game can´t process anymore - the autopilot would try to move your ships into an area within your range - just with that bug there is no place on the whole map which is

Hello, Although your descriptions are a bit vague, I have seen such behaviour before. I guess it does have something to do with your Alliance/Team-status. Question: Does the pop-up give you the option to procede with your action (and thus declare war) or is no selection possible. Could you post the specific text here? I´ve got such a message in one of my games, too - but AFAIK I could procede and take the war.... Have you tried to declare war on all affected race

Hi all. Got some problem here with using a custom race @ the MV in TA. Pop-up tells me that my raceconfig is invalid, and that I should go back and clear that character and re-edit it. Well, that character is made in-gamed (no ARC), and after re-editing that pop-up still shows. I´ve deleted all raceconfig-files related to that race, and started from scratch, but didn´t help either. In DL/ DA don´t have these problems.... EDIT: The game

Iztok, thx for taking yourself time to reply. Let´s for the sake of shortness just concentrate on the one main thing I can´t "see" yet, and this would be how the game behaves when you have 1/99/0 slider-settings and NO social queue. In an all-fac strat there will be lots of planets which will be outbuilt by time and there is nothing to set into queue. In my testings I did not outbuilt any planets, I just left queue empty - however I think this will not

I take that as a yes, although the wiki doesn´t say specifically "all" Soc-->Mil. But how is it then that the Mil pts will increase with focus? In your 1/99/0 example a planets with a productional output of 24 will show 0/23/0 without any focus or production. If I then put a ship into built then numbers will change to this: 23/11/0. Then if I focus on Mil: 24/10/0. Question 1 is: Why does "focus" transfer 1 pt? Because, there are 11 Soc pts, according the Wi

Are the Social pts entirely converted into Military pts once the Soc queue is emtpy - or will there be points left? I´ve just run some tests, but I come to the conclusion that the number of Social pts is false-shown when the Social queue is emtpy. For example, I had 18 Social pts that halfed to 8 pts after I focused on Mil - but added only 1 Mil pt.

What is just bothering me is the 99 set into social, as well as the 40% to research. One way or another there is a huge loss of potential there, and there should be a better approach. Not that I am saying there is, just that I´d look for one. I understand that the 99 social have the great effect to get new planets producing rather quickly, and once the queue is empty alot of Social power goes to Military. However still some points remain on social which won´t be used. Ques

Basically I don´t feel comfortably with the idea that my racial bonuses only apply to 20% of my complete output. This is somehow inefficient if you count together Mil+Soc+Res points. But I can see the disadvantage of All fac vs. All lab now, because, following your example the research will be upped to 26 with a 40% racial bonus - well and that´s still not really much to make for a good research, at least compared to the 80 in Soc, which will still finish Planeta

23 Replies 77,172 Views

I have a question, why putting racial bonuses in Tech when slider setting is 1/99/0? I´d rather put all racial bonuses in Social Prod for a max effect, you can get +70% by choosing Industrialists + 50% Social bonus, and it´s just 1 point more then Technologist + Research. Unless I calculate something wrong that will yield a higher focused research output, as well as a much more higher Mil+Soc production. Anyway, I am just curious, because I usually don´t go f

Hi all! WeReWolf & dirani, the core ships are not stronger than what you can design. That there are more parts shown in the Shipyard is a bug. If you double-click on a built ship and open the "Ships details" pop-up you´ll notice that the components are reduced to what is possible. It´s tricky, but the others have right, the core-design ships are rather useless. btw, in some campaigns you´ll start with a small Scout Ship, and you´ll also get ships th

Pretty good, yes, POWER to the Yor! I always felt they are something very special, so totally different from all the other stock races. However, what always questioned me is if the Yor do consciously know that their artificial intelligence "Spark of Life" does descend from the Dread Lords - and if that could possibly play a role in their existance. In ToA they are incredibly strong in the beginning, but wouldn´t they also be eligible for some "Way of the Dread Lords" strong end-

If you are fighting against the Dread Lords (in GalCiv2 DL), then you have to be fast - fast in taking over their planet. That´s the best you can do. There´s usually no way of defeating them once their homeworld is built-up and they produe +200 ATT ships. Because the Dread Lords starts with the whole Techtree already rersearched (like in the 'Battle of the Gods'-Szenario) and the only thing that keeps them from getting a good start is that their planets only have like ~0.1% p

The auto-ship designer always adds stuff to ones ships that are either not researched or are beyond the hull-points. But usually when those ships are built they don´t have any extra equipment with them.... or let´s say it like that by giving you an example that happens all the time in my games: A Star Fury appears auto-designed with a Plasma Weapon, that should give the ship ATT+2 - but when I build it it has only +1 because my research is still within Lasers.
