Obviously, to be more realistic the choice between good and evil should be a choice between bonuses.
[e digicons]k1[/e] This is the best so far I read for a possible idea for GalCiv3. And think in it in even greater terms - good/neutral/evil could have their entire own strategies & strengthes in winning the map. It's kind of "hinted" at it as the game is now, but when it comes to the actual out-play the

Okay, I've worked around that problem by installing DL v1.0 on my standard partition - played a game, which I could load-in on the other OS, too. Just couldn't test to submit it - as the score was *unusual* low - only 952pts (!!!!) in a tiny ZYW that would usually harvest 25.000pts. Unbelievable. First I was positively surprised to see that in 1.0 you could pick up to 50% racial research-bonus (!), but then that game seem to be so slow.... I think I got "hosed" by the Co
It doesn't work (yet). Problem is that the DL version on Win2k is 1.0 (because I install from disc) - and I can't load any savefile in. A CTD occurs any time I tried. But these savefiles are made with v1.53. Problem is I can't use Impulse to update it - and Stardock Central doesn't work, although it recognizes DL 1.0 and says it's registered etc - it tries to download the update but fails. I get an error message: Download: C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral\data\
Basic problem is the old system will be destroyed, as I need the hard-drives. But I have Win2k installed on another partition - if I'd now install DL on it and try submit one of those games? Would probably be the same situation, isn' it?
Usually you're attacked when other races view you as "hostile". You can change that by reducing the number of "-" or "--" in the foreign policy screen. Well, that's not always easy as outspoken because different races react *different* to the same matters, e.g. Drengin view a high diplomacy rating as negative while most others do not. Best way to manipulate the relations is with Freighters. And also try to avoid some grave mistakes as positioning Military vessels (esp. Troop Transport

One time, I was close to an Influence Victory but wanted a Research Victory, so I gifted every single piece of tech, every ship, every base, and every planet to them. The only things i kept were one research planet, one orbiting fleet, and 20,000 BCs.
Interesting. What did t
Hello all, I´m gonna get a new system in a month and wonder if it will be possible to start games with my current one and take them up on my new system - will these games be submittable to the MV? Also, if I want to make a second submit of a game submitted previously from another system - will that work?
Yes, this way avoiding some micromanagement. You can also build only hulls instead (constructors cost maintenance) and upgrading them the turn before they'll reach their designation. But most efficient is to use everything you have ASAP. One possibility is to set a rallye-point to an auto-update station and construct a unique-named vessel and route this to that base using the governor - once the base is finished simply re-route these to other bases - lets you built out your bases
I think it's possible. Just did it in 'Dark Avatar' and the game even stayed MetaVerse-legal. I can't say for sure in DL, but simply check out the installations-folder where the other pictures are - and replace one with your own style. You'll most likely need to match the height*width of this pic, and have a transparent background, too. However, don't know if there are more easier solutions. I'm not a modder at all. But hope this helps you. [img]http://amcore.kryofx.com/sig/21
That's only possible in the 'Twilight of the Arnor' expansion. Double-click on that base, there you can check "allow auto-upgrade" and change also the built-priority.

I always wondered why this would be the case - how is it possible that there is a "dead-end" in mathematics? Later I found out they don't tell you the whole truth in school, in order to not confuse the pupils. You *can* divide by 0. Result is always infinity. *!=/ 0!= ∞ </p

Simply ignore the "add-ons" as they don't pose a problem whatsoever. I don't know why this is so, but point is that all excess parts are ignored during the gameplay, and when you upgrade these ships in terms like you describe then these excess parts will only show up after you've deleted another part, making space so it does drop in - so simply delete that also and you're fine. So far the game is most exciting in the early/ mid stages. Once I am the strongest player in game, this game is won already. It's like the more power one has the more power he'll be able to scoop up and so forth resulting in omnipotency. The steps are only minimal in the beginning and become gradually greater overtime, that's why the beginning is most hard to determine & access. I hope in GalCiv3 there will be more "unbalancing" super-events than now. Esp. it seems that so
yes understood. I further like it you gave your station different sections/functions and put extras on it not only to look great but also that do serve an actual purpose - as launchbays for ships etc. my current design of a tiny hull that could be used as a freighter etc is made under such pretenses, too - but it's getting increasingly difficult. and is it just me who can't see the 2nd and 6th pictures? ....... by the way............ - it was very polite
Yes, it is actually more difficult to get weak AI's to attack a strong AI than getting the strong AI to attack the weak AI's - which (not taking into account Alliances) will result in the same anyway, so I´d rather pay the strong one. But there is something like this - sometimes the good alignment AI's will unitedly declare war on a strong player, but it could also be result of the Draths SuperAbility.
.....!!! The Shuriken looks great, esp. from above. You seemed to have used 4 huge starwars hulls for the ships-section. How did you do that? The game won't let me pick more than one hull simultanously....?
Yeah it depends on his strength. If he is just some edges stronger then keeping the AI at war will keep them also weak all the time. But if a single AI has so strong ships that he won't even loose shipfights then it's only a matter of time until he's going to successfully invade planets and by that becoming even more stronger. Actually, speaking of this, I remember an other game (I think it was the Drengin Gambit) where the Altarians had a Precursor Library on their homeworld, and bec
Just one thought on 1) If an AI is too strong to be conquered militaristically (and if other methods such as bringing AI's to declare war on him will result in him being only more stronger) then I´d put all my efforts into allying with him - even if that means I have to pay 10.000bcs for a radical alignment change. After the alliance is set this guy is ripe to be conquered culturally.
