In DA/TA a good soldiering/moral coupled with breeder will almost always do this trick, but in DL I don't know. I'd rather concentrate on strong and fast warships, attack is the best defense in this case.
Uhm, maybe you two (Raknor & GmOOmii) should read the story again about GalCiv. When the Humans introduced hyperdrive to the rest of the civilizations, those civilizations had already spend ten-thousands of years exploring the galaxy with probes and such. Removing prior knowledge of this would go against the storyline of the races.
That's true with some races, but not with all. And if this wou
That Species 8472 votes for Borg is a bit unusual... they'd rather "purge the galaxy" of them
Scoutdog, I don't know what problems you encounter over there, but I had/have no issues with viewing all your pics from Reply #22. BTW great designs, all of you.
I've played like 50 games TA all rare setup - there was never any ship from whatever race showing up at my homeplanet. Nor did any race declare war - as in such a setup some negative factors (e.g. "our close borders") are missing. When it comes to techs and their using, the computer AI plays to the same rules as you, so apparently if his ships arrive at your planet then he'll have those things researched, pretty easy. Point is, usually first thing to arrive is either Scouts/ C
All other remaining empires (except Kzinti) join the Adeptas Sororitas and then we could have an epic final battle Good against Evil. That would be fun. Who survives Armaggedon? Impossible to see the future is....
I think so, too. Their initial planetary improvements are very cheap and have a low maint/zero maint, but not a good output. You'll invariably fall behind when not rushbuying stuff. Later, some improvements are okay, esp. the Slave Canyons, with these you can fairly compete - but as in all games I'l first concentrate on the "yellow" diplomacy techs and get sympathy with sending freighters in. Try getting most out of techtrade and then concentrate on the correct on type defense
Start GC2:TA and click on the Metaverse button (instead of "New game"). This will let you start a MV game which can later be submitted under your character, who is then accumulating points, and thus ranks + medals.
Please fix the Secret Police Center. As it is now, it is totally unuseable. We want happy people![e digicons]:)[/e] There are also a number of other Supers/Wonders were I doubt their actual usefullness. Not sure I remember all now, but this Galactic Guide Book is one of it. It'll save you 45mp per SurveyShip after been built. Wow, I mean, how many SurveyShips do you have to built to even get your cost back from the build of said Wonder, 9 ships!!! Plus, by the time you'll
how can you destroy a colony besides death stars?
In the planetary view press "details", there is a button "destroy colony" (under the "Governor", and "make homeworld" button). It transforms the planet instantly to a PQ 0. In certain tournamnets/ campaigns this is actually pretty usefull, because you can create a "void" zone between yourself and a superior enemy. In the manual it is stated that at higher intelligency leve
The basic problem with this is that the AI values certain things in the game, either --, -, 0, + or ++; and this rating determines his relationship to the other AI'S/you. Ultimately this means either War, or the opposite, Alliance. The game is in fact so modelled that most of these factors are aggravating as the game progresses. But the human player doesn't need such things. You have all freedom that you want, and can declare war upon everybody anytime, so what's the deal in saying an
Super Projects should be rebuildable. For example, if my Political Capital planet has been occupied by enemy forces I should be able to choose a new planet for a Political Capital.
If I go for a warfighting game I'll always choose Universalists + spend 1pts on +25% luck. Alone this 50% increase in luck gives you a better condition in fights than choosing the WarParty. Plus, the other bonuses the Universalists have are nice, too. Defense means that the defense stuck on your ships is increased by that %. That is, a DEF of 10 becomes 11. In such a game I'll also attribute points to soldiering (and combine this with SuperBreeder), and the rest goes fully on Research + Moral
5) The 'Battle of the Gods' scenario needs to be adjusted. It does not give you all tech from the start (in twilight of the arnor anyway).
Exactly. But leave "Xeno-Ethics" unresearched, because, how it it now, no ethic is chosen (although it is researched), no bonuses given, and the last tech in that branch is missing.

Actually I've tested that yesterday in TA ASAP. One mine module and all other modules will disappear. In DA/DL don't know. If yes, this could probably open an exploit. Wow GmOOnii, others would kill to get such ships as warcrafts. [e digicons]:dur:[/e]
Aha...and I see a ZYW setup. Grown tired of the big games, Jack? [e digicons][/e]
At the top of my head: - A buy building (and maybe ship) button on the colony list screen, so that you save a click and some mouse movement when you want to buy a building. It adds up when you've got a lot of new colonies you want to buy some of the cheaper buildings for. It's only 1 click less per colony (plus some movement of the mouse) but it adds up fast. I was playing Master of Orion 2 the other day and noticed that the buy button you have on
Well, you won't be able to test because the game won't let you add multiple functionality modules on a hull. So the answer must be no.
Craig, you are right and in some way that's the liberty of Sci-Fi to be not realistic. How could it possibly be? However, the final choice of Ethics is a bit "flawed" - I mean, choosing all the evil colonization-advantages, but then *paying* for a saintly alignment? Sounds like pure evil to me.... esp. in greater maps later 10k bc is just nothing, and you can "lease" it when researching Xeno-Ethics after emptying your purse. Why not having the game select an alignment fully
It's unbelievable....... Any game I play with that v1.0 will just score ~1k score! I give up...[e digicons]x_x[/e]
