I've played some ZYW's, but in an all abundant setup. Tiny and gigantic. Scores are yet to be posted, I first need to get some big games finished for my new MV character. That was in DA. Right now I'm back to DL trying to play a million point game. Last try with the Drath failed by only 20k points, but I'm optimistic with the new Yor-one, got a real good start and some tactics to try-out. As well as avoiding the errors I've done in the previous game - DL is quite different to DA/TA (o

You mean GalCiv2? Well, 5 to 20 hours each day... got a million in the make [e digicons]:D[/e]
That the forum doesn't work for you could be a problem at your hand. I'm currently experiencing the same - I can't reply to the last thread of the Kzinti Empire (when using IE as usual), but shifting to Firefox will solve that. Really strange because I previously always used IE, but well, that's just how it is...
Truly awesome! I am speechless...
Hello mates, I've got a strange experience. I was about to find a good ZYW-setup when I needed to backcheck something, thus quicksaved and created a sandbox "Battle of the Gods" scenario. After being being finished, I re-loaded my quicksave and continued Control-N'ing... But, suddenly, I found myself back into the scenario, surprisingly. As my character is still virgin I made a retreat, and could even submit that game... Although, in my MV profile the game will have th
Actually you don't need cheat codes to backcheck that. You can transform back to the imperial form and then look at the Stats & Graphs again, in fact, you can revert this on the same turn, of course. If you wanna find out how you got these 76/86 completely simply open your Tech tree and control which Econ-enhancing techs are already researched. Next, the governmental form does add to it, and probably your racial points spend. If you got some minor 1% or 2%
Welcome Black_Shade [e digicons]:andrew:[/e] , so far good setup but these 8pts on speed are, well, probably a necessity to you now (as in DL, I remember) but you might find a way to work around it.... As for your economic problems, well, that's an unsolveable luck factor: With many PreCursorLabs you'll need an early (or two) cash anomaly or the february debt will destroy the score.
If you go to "Stats & Graphs" you'll need to pay a look on the "Economic" line - this will give you the correct current civ-wide (racial) bonus. You mean, the bi-anual for the votes? It's maintained. FYI the UN is the anual.
That's actually pretty strange. Did you use the same (unchanged) setup for both "cheated" and "valid" games? If you want help, probably you could be more forthcoming with infos regarding your setup. Did you get one of those 2 warning messages before the game starts ("this game has been flagged..." & "this setup is invalid...clear files") Did you take Impulse to verify & then install an update over your change files? After that, did you re-verify again?
The morale, population and tax income triad is also out of kilter. Tax income is based on the square root of population while happiness goes down exponentially with population. The net effect is that you will get more income from low populations and econ improvements than from farms and morale improvements. All of which brings to mind GalCiv's equivalent to teats on a boar--300% food production bonus tiles.
Actually, this
As the Korx being the masters of Trade/Economic exploits, they'll surely get a refund from those that build their ships [e digicons]XD[/e] Sorry, no clue....
Yep, it doesn't. Only first-submits are shown. That why I even have a "0" game [e digicons]X([/e] Besides, I wonder what the AltMeta does with games/scores from *cleared* characters?
As a matter of fact some races don't like it when others have a good diplomacy rating, the Drengin are one example, AFAIK Korath should behave the same. You can do alot. Decrease their military (before they declared war) by trading for their Military vessels with techs &/ influental points. Increase your own MM by building the SCC. Send them Freighters. If war is inevitable, rush-buy some Medium (or bigger) hulls, research the correct on-type defens
Unfortunately that would just turn constructor spam into base spam (which is just as big a problem now if not more so). I like the idea but it'd need to have some other dependency "cost" for actually building structures.
I agree. Sending just one ship somewhere and getting a fully build-out base is not realistic. Neither is the idea to let the base grow overtime from itself.
No, because the game lets you build a base out of range.
If you end on 8th April it's all fine. Maybe the ARC'ed got bungled. Simply take Impulse to verify your installation, and renew the ARC afterwards. (btw I always was under the impression that *good* aligned players wouldn't use cheats and such things...[e digicons]:P[/e] )
Oops, seems like my pics do vanish. Let's see what I can do about it..... I vote for for KP as well, good choice.[e digicons][/e] Well, if Random's score isn't counted I'm still 3rd place, I think Jack is four. GmOOnii, that is a really a great setup, but looking at your approval rate tells me you still could improve that game. You don't really need happy people, do you?
GW, it heavily depends on the version you play. In DA, okay, but in TA you'll notice their influence is so nerfed that their zone of influence is pushed away by any other race. One of the many errors in TA. They can colonize low PQ planets in foreign terrain (and their 100% loyality usually assures that these don't flip) but their SA won't come into play at these planets. Only at their core worlds, but just having a Superbreeder aside and you won't see much Yor-space at all... That could have
Because the AI's seem to horde Spies alot. And if they don't use them to eradicate yours then sometimes they'll bombard you with them on occasion. The increased economy at higher difficulty levels makes that possible.
MottiKhan is right, but I might add that you can enter a wormhole with a fleet of ships, and in that instance only one ship of that fleet needs to be equipped with this Survey Module. The other can be whatever you like. You can, of course, equip every ship you want with such a Survey Module, but as it is expensive it would be a waste to stuck it on Constructors/Colonizers (as these ships break down after constructing/colonizing) or Fighters (who cost maint). Fast long-range vessels bu
... and the Yor have been building (less than ideally located) influence bases to try pushing back my encroachment on their border.
And that's weird, too. Why would Yor bother with influence at all when they have their loyality all up? And (depending on the version you play) they do lack Yellow-techs as well a lot; and/or with strong soldiering/miniaturization the course of action is clear right off the start
What are they thinking?
Well, not much.
Btw, I had a strange event happen to me over the weekend. I was allied with the Terrans and was not bothered by their progress until some idiot in my empire assassinated Allen Bradley. Now I was facing an enemy of equal strength, plus they had hundreds of "vengeance" ships scattered across the galaxy. doh!
In my first won suicidal that happened to me, too. Also with Terrans, who were by then the most dominant force.
I seems like there are 2 threads of the same kind. So I have to respond to this as well [e digicons]XD[/e] LTjim is very right with his tactic but in DL the AI's built also very fast transports/ships, which means that in your outer rim planets can be invaded from the Fog-of-War. Eyes of the Universe and some fast Sensorships beyond those worlds (always in heading to the enemy) will mitigate this. And, you can manipulate the AI even further. Only leave your second rim worlds un
You might try to do the following: Click "Find" (the button to the left of the "Turn" button) If the game takes you now to a ship (that is probably stuck somewhere) hit "S" or "G" on your keyboard. At least, this helps me occasionaly.
