I'm glad your opinion is shared by an infinitesimal percentage of people. Let me ask you, what do you take pride in? Your career? You family? Your accomplishments? Anything you hold dear, and you voiced that proudly and someone came along and told you what you just said about some servicemembers. How would you feel......? It's all relative and to be honest I don't care that you feel military personnel may be pompous or full of themsleves and we are overly prideful. I

I had that happen serveral times. It's something Marines take pride in.....Pomp and Circumstance and all that. Marines are instinctively wanting to be the best, whether it's starching the hell out of our cammies to the point of insanity or being the best at drill.....and of course at fighting (not in bars mind you but I'm sure that ranks pretty high). We are fortunate to do nearly all the color guards for the Oakland Raiders and I can't tell you the sense of pride we feel ev
I'm on duty at this time and I have the privlige of raising and lowering the colors at my command for a week and if you can't feel a sense of pride in doing that then I don't know what is.....just some useless info I guess
Sheesh ladies even a dumb jarhead like myself was able to read it....
The only proper way of destroying a flag is by burning it yes but it must be requested and authoized by compitent authority.....
Buzz_Hog Amen brother
I actually resent that comment moshi.....from time to time we perform cermemonial services for Marines who have passed away. You know what we do for them? At their funeral we give them a full burial detail which comprises of riflemen, flag folders and we play taps. The senior Marine thanks his or her next of kin for their loved ones honest and faithful service in defense of their country and fellow men in arms. Is that glorification? Does that suck? Do you think that it's wasting t
Hmmmm....what would ever give you that idea? I would though suspect that you wouldn't make comments like that in my presence.
Wow what a low blow to me moshi....I've been in the military 8 years and counting and I hope for your ake we never meet >
Marine is spelled with a capital 'M' due to the fact that it is a title....earned of course Oh and we don't like to be called soldiers or Army men or those guy's in cammies but simply Marines.......
I would hope people understand that releasing information before hand can be a double edged sword. You can't rule out that much of the plans for a post Saddam Iraq may or may not have been defined. I will admit that Bush seems to have a lack of venacular skillz but regardless the push for information that the media craves can sometimes risk security.
If you need proof that Saddam has WMD's and chemical weapons, then I suggest you read the headlines...he has already stated he will use these supposedly disposed of weapons to fight against an invasion. Like you said you don't think that the US should force it's views on other parts of the world but how can you then say that it isn't doing anything in other countries where help is clearyly needed. It's almost like the US is damned if it does and damned if it doesn't. Something is no
I respect your opinion because that is how you are feeling regardless of what is factual but you have to be honest to yourself about what is really going on. I hear that line about oil and all that but does anybody know where the US gets the majority of it's oil? I can tell you it's not the middle east. Anyway.....being a pacifist is one thing but being ignorant is another.
What if we chose a few skins, walls, icons and the like that were really popular and if willing the artist could show how they made it or at least go through the steps on making something like that. I know I could learn from the masters here at WC alone.
Are we talking 50/50 or 20/80. Is it wrong for the US to finally put an end to a regime who practice what I listed a few posts ago. How can you say we are in the wrong? How are we wrong? Statements like that with zero reference is probably what makes people upset.
I hate seeing that. People being treated in-humane because of association. Yeah I may not like the French government but I respect her people. I guess there is a fine line that people can cross so easily. Sorta reminds me of peace rally's....sorta ironic how peacenics riot or fight at these rally's when they are there in the first place for no war, or no fighting. I was once spat at in Berkley, CA (Bezerkley for us military folk) simply because I was a Marine. It made me think, a
All jokes aside I think everyone here is pretty cool and regardless in the differences of opinion we are all still a community of artists whether novice or expert and I just hope we stick together. If we can unite when another site is flat out ripping the work of artists who belong to WC and we as one voice flat out shut them down, then I would hope and pray we can make it through our "separate lives" together....I hope that makes sense. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smi
To be hoest there is nowhere he can go....he's alienated his neighbors, attacked others. It's not like he can call the Ayatollhah and ask him if he can crash in the spare bedroom.
I call them as I see them and I could care less what you think of that....and I find it really strange how a country that claims they don't have WMD and chemical weapons would now use them if they are attacked. Isn't that strange to any of you? It's even worse for me to think that countries (France) who said that the US has not proved that Saddam poses a threat is now hearing it from the horses mouth that he will in fact use these weapons. The reason France will help "now" is to sav
I've been privy to a lot of information otherwise unknown to the general public and I can't agree with you more KarmaGirl. It's hard for another country to really see the stance America is taking as a result of 9-11 but we aren't going to be occupied, we aren't going to make side deals, we aren't going to write IOU's, and we are not going to allow another 9-11 take place.......not as long as I am able to fight nor the rest of the US and allied forces who are commited in liberating the o
Something I received today in my military mailbox ----------------- See men shredded, then say you don't back war By Ann Clwyd “There was a machine designed for shredding plastic. Men were dropped into it and we were again made to watch. Sometimes they went in head first and died quickly. Sometimes they went in feet first and died screaming. It was horrible. I saw 30 people die like this. Their remains would be placed in plastic bags and we were told they would be used as fis
