When you build a map in Galaxy Forge, all suns automatically link to every other sun. Nothing else needs to be done. If you dig into the notpad file for the map, I think you can change this, but I just leave it alone. I like makeing my enemies fly by 4 starbases in a sun.[e digicons]:cylon:[/e]

I built a custom map in Galaxy forge and e-mailed it to a friend so we could play on it over ICO. We can both play it without a problem in single-player, but when we tried to play it in multi-player, it gave us the instant 'Defeat' screen as soon as it loaded up. We both have it in the 'Galaxt Forge' folder. The only thing that's different between our two systems is I run XP and he runs Vista. The map starts with more than the normal start-up resources. Cou
A good story can do wonders.
That's just it. It has to be a good story. So often, video games forgo all the time and effort it takes to write a good story, and invest that into better graphics, or a slicker interface, or something. Then the game comes out and we say, "game play was nice, but they should have worked a bit more on the story." I think this is especially true in RTS and 4X games. I know the devs have stated they didn't want t
Quoting sawakaki, reply 4 I run XP and just did a search for the for 'Galaxy' and specified the engine to look in hidden folders too. Once I found it, I just created a desktop shortcut so I wouldn't have to look for it again. that is inefficient, and besides you might have gotten the program files "Galaxy" folder, for sins now, it is a either MapDesigner or GalaxyForge
Inefficient? It only took me a minute to find it. Just specifie

I'm not quite sure what you're asking here. If you're talking about the research tree, it doesn't scroll. You have to click on the Militart, Defense, Civilian, Fleet Logisitics, and Artifacts tabs to switch between them. Once you bring one of those up, what you see is what you get. If the problem is your mouse, I'm not 'techie' enough to help with that, sorry. Maybe someone who is will respond and help.
Quoting TheRezonator, reply 11 im not sure about most of the ideas here, to be honest the numbers are hurting my brain at 4:31 in the morning i just have 1 thing id like to put forward id like a way to drop your fleet supply level. for instance, if you have 600 fleet supply in a fleet (arbitrary number) and you are getting steamrolled and dont have the time or the ability to re-use those slot
About 9 years ago there was a RTS game called Earth 2150 in which you only researched techs for modules, you had to use these modules for creating your units. But yeah, it wouldn't fit right into this game.
I have that game. The campaign kinda sucked, but they did do a good job with build customizable units. I agree that style wouldn't work in Sins.
I rarely ever get the full mb to work. even with everything on "disabled", it will move off on its own. I've tried not having it in a fleet at all, not have any ships attached to it at all, disabled all abilities and auto fire, then pressed stop, and it'll still move on it's own. *shrug* It's a hassle to keep it apart from all other ships, not a part of the fleet, and not have any ships following/attached to it...
I have problem with Galaxy Forge. Can someone make maps with whole bunch Terren, Desert, Ice, pirates maps? Hehe.
Absolutely. You can build fully customized maps from scratch. What's the problem with Galaxy Forge? Will it not run, or are you haveing trouble using it?
Probably one of the more difficult ones to do is kill 1000 frigates (and even harder is 1000 Pirates).
Yup, large custom maps from Galaxy Forge are the way to go for these. You can place dozens of pirate bases. [e digicons][/e]

Jeeze! That's enought to make me want to say some really dirty words if I saw that coming at me! I'm currently playing a game with three Marzas in the same fleet, and that totally dominates any fleet the AI can send (unfair difficulty). I can't imagine what 10 Marzas could do.

I don't play online. I'm not dissing it, or anything, it's just not my cup of tea. Everything I said in the previous post was for games against the AI. Against the AI, I'd rather have more abilities with my caps than more frigates. I don't think the AI prioritizes its target ships, as in an lrm frigate has the same priority as a level 8 capitol ship. I haven't seen anything in game play that suggests other wise. I do know that once I take the enemy's caps d

Ah, okay. I definitely like the last part with the ship stats. Would you include star bases too? I wish I could help, but I can't really do anything with computers other than point and click.[e digicons]:P[/e] I'm more than willing to give what feed-back I can, though.
I prefer the simplicity of the camera/movement controls with the option to move in the Z should I feel some kind of strange urge to do so. Having to deal with "hidden" fleets/SB's that are lurking about and build defenses spherically around the planets? Pass.
Agreed. It's a good idea, but it would add SOOOO much more complexity to a game that is already complex and deep enough to challenge 95% of the people playing it.

I aggree that this is an annoying issure. However, when I play a game that long, I find myself filling planets with trade ports. Once this happens, my income goes up to around 200sec, even with my fleet supply at 1680 or 2000. Even though my metal and crystal rates are below 15 at this point, i make enough in credits to buy as much as I need. I usualy have around 500,000 credits just sitting there.

I think it just depends on your play style. Some players can use the abilities on capitol ships ver well. I'm not that good and reinforce my fleets with cruisers. I find frigates don't last long at all in pitched fleet battles. I also find that hard and unfair AI's increase their fleet supply to the max of 2000 or just one level below. These fleets are usually too large to take on with just caps. I usually build the 16 max caps, split them into two fleets

You're not the only one suggesting these things. A large percentage of the Sins community is wanting just what you said. IC does a good job of listening to the forums and implemeting suggestions if there's a general consensus. I think the chances are very good that something like this will end up in the next expansion.
