I agree with Loupdinour. To accentuate this point I would say that the Galciv 2 community is one of the least interactive communities (metaverse excluded). I am a big fan of grand strategy games and one of the other games i play (too) often is Hearts of Iron II by Paradox. The paradox forums for HOI2 alone is far more active than here. I've never played SMAC but i've been a huge fan of SM games since the original colonization came out, prior to civ 2 iirc. i guess i was't a huge enough fan however since i never played SMAC. An Arcology (Not ArCEology) is basically a huge edifice housing thousands of people and which, ideally, are self-sustaining. Colonizing a relatively barren worl like Mars would require this type of structure. They would be able to hold their own livestock and have floors for growing food as well
