Nice job on the Fallen Enchantress Manual, Kestral2040! It really does look classic! As Kael said, thanks to you and your team for putting it together (Toby Sarnelle, Kathleen Land, Brian Clair). It's another one of those "little things" that makes the whole package (the game, as well as the Beta process) seem that much cooler ... and a Cut Above ... what we typically see from Stardock's competitors.
Lovely manual and I got an honorable mention! It felt more like a yearbook than a manual, remembering back through all the changes and developments over the past six months. The best part is the faction pages. Great job there.
thanks! I realllly wanted the faction pages to stand out and get people excited to play... I personally LOVE the variety of play the different faction provide players and feel it gets overshadowed sometimes. speaking of... once we get the word from the top, the manual is ready for dissemination ;) for those eagerly awaiting a massive tome to read. .... and as I type this it's approved: https://forums.elementalgame.com/434518 enjoy!
I've always just used acrobat reader... but would love a better way myself :)
the manual will probably be stickied when it's out, dunno that this needs to be by itself ;)
We'll try to avoid all of the blood, sweat and tears on the digital pages, knowing it was a labor of love (or a task passed down by overlord Derek).
cant it be both? ;)
oh and for those that wanted this list and cant wait... since we still haven't finished the manual, here is a list to sate you: Main UI Enter : End Turn Spacebar : Skip unit’s turn (consuming all moves) Escape : Options Menu Control + G : Show/Hide Grid Control + S : Quick Save</spa
it is.... comprehensive to say the least ;)
I am fighting to try and get it in ASAP ;) and welcome eyes
we are shooting for 1pm est, sorry no midnight release :( you can keep playing the beta up until we flip the switch tho at least? ;)
Quoting Kestral2040, reply 16 I made some super awesome game information screens that we would loooove to get in there when we have time too, which if you guys saw I'm sure you would agree Pics or it didn't happen!!
I wish I could, but then you would all want it so badly and be mad at its absence ;)
Quoting Kestral2040, reply 13we are gonna try to make the manual (and its information) available in as many forms and to as many people as possible... but I don't think there is gonna be time to get a direct hot key list into the game itself. No ability to change the hotkeys to different buttons? aawww Sincerely ~ Kongdej
yea not for release at least... it would be nice for the future but there
we are gonna try to make the manual (and its information) available in as many forms and to as many people as possible... but I don't think there is gonna be time to get a direct hot key list into the game itself. If Derek will let me I will gladly post it here, on the website, link through the games ect ect when it's done. Which could be today even :) We also have a grammar/spelling nut (english major) here who has looked over half of it so far... So hopefully that part wont
THERE ARE SO MANY WORDS.
I've been working on a manual (with lots of words and stuff in it) and will get this info in there
Quoting Glazunov1, reply 13 Where is Soren Johnson when you need him?
I think he's still at Zynga... Derek would know I'm sure ;)
hehe. maybe in real life they really stand up most of the time and just walk on all fours to mess with us.
qft.
it is a bug that you can currently use raise land to turn a hill into a mountain (which we will be fixing). We like the idea of people being clever and opening up new routes around the map using a cheap terraforming spell, but we don't like the idea of creating impassible areas easily (slow moving is fine)
there is new feedback coming to both these screens to see what different factions/races do... it's not quite what was suggested but hopefully you will still like it :)
I think the main reason we didn't put it in there (aside from space) is that when you hover over a unit the pink highlight on the map shows you how far they could move, complete with adjustments for blocked tiles and moving past other units... which seems more useful than the number
expect a minor nerf to despair in the coming days ;) it is meant to be terrifying, but right now it doesn't provide much in the way of options for the player to combat it (aside from lots of hp/resist)
we have addressed this for the next build :)
there is an improvement that reduces champion recruit cost (adventurer's guild) already, that being said I think everyone here is right to some extent. :) I personally think champion costs are probably a *little* too high, but as Trojasmic mentioned it is still important to keep the perks that reduce champion costs important. Expect them to come down a little bit, but not enough as to render those traits useless
we have a fix coming for this
