This is why I hate Microsoft sometimes, Windows 7 is still a fantastic OS, Windows 8 was completely unnecessary and now we have Windows 10 coming? Ridiculous.

Remember though, the copyright is on the content, not the physical media (plastic CD disc, paper pages, etc.). If someone loans me a CD or DVD, then I get to experience the content for free. Whether or not the first party gives a copy of the physical media or not is largely irrelevant. The end result is the same, two people (or more) experience content where only one has paid.

[quote who="DrJBHL" reply="59" id="3510296"] Quoting charon2112, reply 57 So how are public libraries legal? Every person that borrows a book, or CD or DVD from a library is a lost sale for the owner of the copyright, so are those people thieves? You're missing a simple piece of the

I would like to present a couple of scenarios. It's illegal and I'm a thief if someone through file sharing gives me a copy of a movie, or game, or music, correct? So by that logic, if someone copies a DVD for me, or a CD and gives it to me, I am also a thief. If someone lends me a DVD and I watch it, or lends me a game and I play it, am I not also a thief because that is technically a lost sale for the company, corr

" 3) pirates -> I really don't like the CIVs system for pirates, so for GC3 I'd like to have them as a minor race without planets, wandering and salvaging around the galaxy - we could talk with them, buy them, bribe them to attack other civs (guerilla), etc" I said the exact same thing in another thread, I'm all for this idea. Distant Worlds does pirates pretty good, that's one of the few games where I don't tu

Gilmoy, why is it that black holes have such immense gravity that even light cannot escape it once it gets close. Normal stars don't do that, isn't the gravity of BH's far more than normal stars? Once a star collapses in on itself and becomes a black hole, doesn't the gravity greatly increase?

" Games become alive with uniqueness. If there was a galactic achievement that allowed passage through black holes, that would make the game more fun 10x." Nah, it has to be somewhat grounded in reality. Why not include space dragons for more uniqueness. " Black holes don't "slowly" pull things in. They're indistinguishable from a star of the same mass. Gravity is gravity." I'm

" I said the same thing about Elemental. It only took two free expansions and an extra year (or more) of development for them to release something approaching the game they were promising right around this stage of development." It's because of the Elemental disaster that I have faith they won't make that mistake ever again.

I'm suggesting that people keep their opinions in check and realize that this is a beta designed to test for bugs. A beta that is missing half of the content that will be in the finished game. I'm also noticing that the complainers in this thread seem to also not like GC2 very much either. And their opinions matter little to me and I hope to SD as well.
