The more I think about dynasties being cut, the less I like the decision. Dynasties were one of the more original and interesting things about EWoM...the system just needed to be fixed a bit. Like having an heir take over as sovereign after the previous sovereign dies.

Will there be an awesome, all inclusive, hopefully 300 page, super cool manual for Fallen Enchantress (which was lacking in EWoM)? And for those getting a digital download of it for free, can they get a paper version that would be in the retail FE? Thank you.
Quoting charon2112, reply 17 I don't agree with that. Nothing is etched in stone, especially in a Stardock game. It can definitely be improved, and I'm sure SD isn't afraid of work. Welcome to business reality, then. They also need to make some money on this stuff to continue developing it, and that's not going to happen with WoM now. It is what it is. FE means a chance to start fresh, and a new set
Also the "less city micromanagement" in this interview sounded suspiciously close to "dumbed down" or "deemphasized", but it's Stardock so I'm at least far less worried than I otherwise might be.
I was worried about this too.

That's why it's called a double standard, duh. It's a numbers thing, male gamers on this site outnumber girls, maybe, 5000 to 1. and even worse is when guys pretend they don't care, because they think it gets them on her 'good side'... Every straight guy on here is wondering the same thing...at least I'm honest about it.
Exactly.&n
It's also a very large amount of work, and not worth doing for what is now an old game. At some point people need to accept that WoM is what it is, and trying to freeze time to avoid the new game while also saying "dump a ton of resources into this one" is just not realistic.
I don't agree with that. That's amazing. :) And so lazy on 2K's part...
Civilization 5 is still a mediocre game (or worse) in my opinion because it was released far, far, far too early. That bun should have spent at least another year in the oven if not two. 2K Games wanted to appease their shareholders and make their year end reports look better. Civilization 5's AI is not good at all. The gameplay is

But FE is really a whole new game, so improving a problem in FE doesn't fix the problem in WoM. I'd still like to see WoM fixed, not just forgotten for FE.
I seem to recall Frogboy saying this blandness was "by design", and that it was a mistake, and that they would have a different approach in FE which is more content-driven.
This is cool. I wish I had thought of it.
A big congrats goes out to xmorg who has won the Fallen Enchantress “Design a Trait” contest! His trait, Outlaw Connections, took the top spot! “The Hero has spent some time with the lawless and knows a little about how to communicate with bandits. I actually like the weeks measurement in GC2 better than other 4X games. It makes sense to me that it might take a civilization five weeks or so to build a ship. I just assume they have a large, advanced factory. In Elemental they changed it to "seasons", basically 4 turns is a year, and I feel like it cranks too fast through the years.

Are the maps and terrain randomly generated? It sounds like FE is getting even farther away from being a empire building, 4X game; instead focusing more on the RPG aspects. IMO this is a mistake. I have yet to hear grand design decisions that put Elemental on par (strategy game wise) with Galciv2. I didn't bad-mouth your system...in fact I specifically said mine was much worse. When I said something's wrong, I meant with the game.
