GCII is essentially a game of maximising modifiers using fixed point population centres and mobile construction ships to build stationary field of effect modifiers. The game is a a board of squares. Combat is civ style, abstract. With imagination the designer could have made it any sort of game, space, fantasy, real world, but the design is as a space game. SotS is a less a game of modifiers and more of logistics. Its movement system is basically one of "warp lanes" bet

Hi Stardock Pre-ordered Elemental quite some time before the 1.0 release and upon release stopped playing the game immediately. I was waiting for 1.1 to be released but on a windy afternoon decided to update and give the 1.09s a game. Very impressed with how its developing and how far it has come since release, its great to see such support from a developer. Keep it up and when you eventually release the 1st expansion and ha
Captain Blood! That game frustrated me! How about Starflight? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starflight *edit* Another page with more pics: http://necrobones.com/starflt/
A friend of mine told me when he was in his teens he and a mate saw something very UFO. There was fog in the distance and out of the fog appeared a giant UFO, he told me he estimated it was at least the size of a large airplane (think Airbus A380 size) except it was a saucer and it was moving too slow to stay in the air if it had have been a plane. They watched it disappear back into the fog. I've never seen anything that I can say was a UFO, alien or secret man-made te
I want to encourage girls to play games, not turn them off. No "exotic" armor.

Great post. I didn't see it but here's one I encountered: BUG: Select too many pro's and con's when designing a sovereign and in-game when you select them and click on their circle picture to look at their stats, the "book view" has no scroll down function and some stats and the equip button will not be able to be seen (left page of book view)
Dominions 3 is awesome. It looks pretty ordinary but seriously, its very deep and ever so rich with imagination juice. Check out this AAR in progress: http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3302467&userid=0&perpage=40&pagenumber=1 Note that the opening post has direct chapt
Is Elemental still targeted to run on the crappiest netbook? The game runs clunky on my Dell 1.8 Dual Core, 256Mb ATi X1400, 1Gb laptop (cloth map is fine but tactical battles, loading for quest loot and the like are clunky). Is see the requirements on Impulse are significantly higher than an "internet only" netbook, what happened?
Elemental is not a genre breaking game and when you are going to make a game in a specific genre such as 4x civ game, you look at whats conisdered the current bench mark and then decide to either copy or expand not retract.
I disagree. Elemental aims to add RPG attributed to a TBS. Purchasing equipment for heroes, going on quests and the marriage system, all combined, make the game pretty unique. Its just
Have it and enjoy it but believe more work needs to be done to make it the game it can be. I urge people who don't buy it now to check it out in a month or two's time, this game once better balanced will be easily a +90% review game. I do kinda feel sad that its been released now as its review scores will be, I predict, 60-70% due to bugs and balance issues. Having said that I give a thumbs up to Stardock because: 1) It has awesome potential, even
I agree. Don't just whinge, make suggestions. If your here saying this it means you paid for the game so tell the developers what you want and thus ye shall receive.
Its been released two days now and you guys have already exhausted all available maps. Rage quitters? [e digicons]O:)[/e]
I would change the building farm answer to clearly say you have to click on the fertile soil and then select build farm. Clicking on the city itself won't bring up the build farm icon.
Cheers. I note that the Irrigation (2nd level farm I believe) appears in the city build bit, unlike the farm icon.
Cheers :)
Ha! You and I are having the same problems :) https://forums.stardock.com/391377
Another embarrassing moment.... I initiate combat and it auto-resolves. I couldn't see an option for manual battles, could somebody tell me where it is?
I am embarrassed to say I have the same problem. Can't build farms even with fertile land in city radius and bordering already built structure. Population of town is 10. I checked the requirements for a farm and I should be able to build one but it doesn't show in my allowable construction display. I researched and could build Irrigation and it was in the allowable construction display (but as only size 1 town couldn't build), but no farm. <p
Troll down! I need a medic! Troll down! :)
Hmmmm..... Interesting. Whats the cost to produce these units?
Heroes has always had a bit of a cheesy feel to it, remembering the dragons from the first Heroes I wasn't sure if they were to demolish my enemy or a plush toy for children.
