I second this, I'm pretty keen too. I have pre-ordered and will (hopefully) join the Beta tomorrow. The game will be good, Stardock has a great history with TBS so I'm sure they will do a great job. Even better will be the great engine they will provide for all the fans to mod into whatever they like. [e digicons][/e]

Are you aiming for it to be "realistic" or will there be indian shamans vs western technology? Think Will Smiths movie "Wild West" and the giant mechanical spider.

How about somebody with the power to do so create a seperate sub-page for all the forum games. Its a pain to have to scan through them all to find the threads I'm interested in.

Roads shouldn't give a direct terrain bonus to trade but rather an abstract bonus, so whoever is going to road spam is just making it easier for the AI to quickly slip armies to any city of yours they want. The Civ IV mechanic of road spam only works because it has the advantage of allowing the defender total movement while the attacker does not benefit. If in Civ IV the attacker could use roads then there would be no road spam as they don't contribute to increasing a single squares commerce

Insane. Insurance companies don't have to pay for a doctor to inform patients and family of all the possible options?!?!? Healthcare. Made of two words, health and care. Its not Healthdon'tcare. After reading other posts showing how much money the "GOP" members gets from insurance companies I can't beleive anyone believes those members have a shred of integrity. GOP Epic fail.....

I think making a unit specifically for building (ie the engineer) would be strange because the unit recruitment in Elemental will be very free, you can recruit 4-1000 people. I don't want to have to be that picky about how many engineers I recruit. To keep it simple, allow any unit to act as an engineer, building roads, forts and whatever. This way if you just want a quick road built you could just recruit some weaponless, armourless peasants to do the job, or send off part of a city garrison

I like the idea of organic roads. What I see as problems: Ok, so they appear representing caravans regularly travelling back and forth so these caravans build the road. Private enterprise. So why can't I build the road myself? Building roads that don't connect cities, presumably roads won't grow because if they did they would grow in every square on the world map. So I have a magic spell, thats nice. What about if my channeller is busy elsewhere,

My advice from experience..... Look at the job market and ask yourself "what are my real chances of getting paid work". I didn't and now have a degree which isn't doing anything for me here in my lovely tiny city. I would have to move to have a chance at a job and I don't want to. I should have done Engineering, Nursing or Computing, instead I did Biotechnology with Honors. Sounds strongly like your job prospect will strongly depend on who you kno
