Something I read/learned today that I found interesting: A person's so-claimed divine experience leads to their use of metaphors to describe what they do not know, cannot explain due to the limits of their knoweledge, and perception of both. This leads them the desire to put this into practice, and form - hence, dogma and the belief that what they saw and believe is The Truth. Such experiences, dogma and beliefs are given validity through the combination of the subjecti
Sometimes you have to lower yourself to other peoples levels in order to give them a taste of their own medicine and so that they too can see what it's like to be on the receiving end. Democrats are currently feeling to pain of the constant questioning of their actions just like they did with Bush for 8 years. It's always different when the shoe is on the other foot, except Bush wasn't telling people to shut up and move out of the way.
I still disagree; I
In order for me to believe that good exist I have to acknowledge that evil also exist. In order for me to voice my dislike about something, I have no choice but to point it out in order to do so. In order for me to make my point I sometimes have to become that which I criticize. In order to make a difference i this world I have to be willing to make sacrifices.
Well then I applaud you in a way, because I can't become what I criticize. It just...the chaos, disorder, mind
In other words, it's not that big of a deal if you kill someone you don't hate.
Was that directed at me or KFC?
My personal view of a hate crime is: What is the alleged perpetrator's mens rea (mental state/intent)? If it can be shown that the intent was to cause harm/kill the victim because of who they are out of hate, then yes. That would a hate crime.
But as usual, these kinds of propaganda are only bad when it's Obama that is the victim
You don't like this sort of political bullshit, you complain about it left and right...so....why... why ...do you help perpetuate it?
Because God is a God of justice.
You've gotta love circular reasoning...you still didn't answer the question in a solid way. Anyone can say, "Well it's X because Y says so." I, for one, would like to see some sort of basis, factual, for this.
No, not relativisim is involved. God is all about truth, not relativisim. What I said above to Infidel transcends any religion or culture. Jesus said two commands sum up the entire OT and that
You see no difference between foreign terrorists (& their domestic allies) and citizens with differing political views? Are you really that dense?
I'm not dense, and yes there is a difference. I am saying, however, that Bush and his crew (heck, possibly even Clinton, Bush Sr, et al.) knew about and went WAY beyond just posting a blog. They went beyond their powers, and yet Obama hasn't even come close to what they did - yet people are already b
I've a question, anyone can answer it's not person specific: What, if any, is the difference between the Patriot Act tapping lines and checking emails, versus the claim made toward Obama?
First he was trusted by republicans not conservatives. Conservatives called him a liberal and we were laughed at by other liberals because Mr. Bush was portrayed as a hard right conservative. Mr. Bush was doing what Mr. Obama is doing only at a slower pace.
Still, where was the fear and paranoia? If big gov't under Obama is just as bad and drives paranoia/fear....then it's the same with Bush. Right?
It is interesting that now
AJ, If that is what you see then you are missing the disinformation. President Obama is talking about health insurance reform. What the Congress is writing is something completely different., universal health care. The reforms that the president is talking about are not in the bill that the Congress is writing. This means that either the president is misleading us or he is unaware or what the Congress is doing.
See, what I see going on with this is that y
You are correct if you are equivalent to that of a drone (half a brain and an ounce of reading comprehension) that's what you'd think this was about. For others you'd see that this is a major scare tactic against the freedom of speech. AJ, you should ALWAYS be worried when the gov't is wanting to collect names or people info (ie emails) of those who oppose it.
Granted, any government should be approached with a reasonable amount of skepticism and concer
We? What do you mean by we? Since when is the US responsible for the action of Americans outside the US boarders? You have got to be kidding me, now we have to reign in every misbehaving American so as to avoid offending other countries. I can see why we are turning into a nanny state, people in this country are definitely children who need big brother and big daddy to take care of them cause they too stupid to take care of themselves.
All right, so we don't apologize.
AJ, don't put yourself down like that.
o_O Do you always resort to childish things, or am I just the lucky one? Really, come on AD - why not try writing something constructive, like say a well reasoned refutation of what I wrote.
No, I do not.
All right. *shrugs*
~Infidel~ What?
Bill didn't have to rescue the girls or do anything else at all to have his stock soar. All he needed to do was sit back and let us learn to appreciate him in the era of Obama. Heck, I even appreciate Carter a little bit more each day. Setting aside all Carter's obvious bias and liberal incompetence, at least he was an honorable man, unlike Obama.
Care to expand on that?
an apology (more I'm sorry's from the US)
Oh my God, you mean we actually apologize for shit we do wrong? Now that's just scary; Gawd forbid it happens again, we're perfect.>_> \sarcasm I guess it doesn't matter that it seems -at least from what I've read - like the journalists entered the country without a visa (i.e. illegally). That isn't to say I feel they should be killed for such things, but...they broke a law. What do we do again, with those who ente
You know what's funny, well, not funny, infuriating really...is that it says:
There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. I f you get an email or see so
A corporation cannot be moral or immoral, it is just a paper entity. THE PERSONS Who own and work in it can be moral or immoral.
What he said:
And this is the problem. A corporation is technically a legal person and has all the same rights. This should NOT be the case. It's the ultimate get out of jail free card for all kinds of crimes and negligent behaviour. From a legal standpoint, I would be okay if a corporation were classed as a "prov
Duh.
What, exactly, was your point with this?
Hmmm, inhumane describes it just about right. I'm sure your probably looking to throw the whole waterboarding thing in here but last I checked we don't torture people for crossing the boarder illegally. If anything, the only difference between jail and the outside is the size of the jail vs the size of the world and in some cases people inside jail live a luxurious life compared t
Only reason he was wrong is because the industrialists were people with human morality.
Sorry, I just don't buy the idea of a moral corporation, it's like saying there's such thing as a peaceful militant. Bottom line, corporations are out for their own interests - profit. Time and again there's been cases where companies have screwed anyone and anything to get what they want. Railroads, mail carriers, etc. Then again, this is just my take on it. To
So you admit that you are new to this. lol See what a little editing can do?
No I don't admit to that. However, Yeah, I'm aware of what taking people's words out of context can be like. Unfortunately this wouldn't be the first time someone's edited and/or altered my words for their agenda. >_> Whatever...
I would never want someone to have to suffer the laws of a country like N. Korea
I'm curious, why is that. Is it because you feel they're inhumane, harsh, et al.?
We agree! See it did not take long for you to see it my way.
Your way? I've been advocating throwing all the politicians out for a long time my friend, and yet I apparently just came to it... >_> Be well, ~Alderic
