You sir, are the lamest troll I have ever seen. Where is the grandiloquent air of superiority while lecturing others about your supposed scientific "facts"? You cannot just lay them out like that, you have to SLAP them in the face of the ignorants like a gauntlet, calling them for a duel! For your lameness and tameness, You've been awarded a "kittie paws" badge of shame by the E.A.T.I.T. (Electronic Association Towards Internet Trolling). [e di

[JOKE ALERT, keep your hearties light] To all trolls gnolls kobolds, digimons and general internet tripudiators (*): This is a 2-stage contest battle. Vote on the best answer to fill your ammo counter with troll-vitriol. The most voted will start with that fuzzy, warm feeling of superiority which only affects the weak-minded which think voting in a meaningless internet poll about a trivial subject (it's just a game for spaghetti monster's sake!) will fore
Not even a snowball's chance in hell. I like land-based RTS, but Sins (this game) is not it. A future land-based RTS based on the Sins lore would be cool though.
I, for one, am in favor of giving late-game pirates a custom capital ship. It would actually be a behemoth mining ship converted to combat duties. The weapons would then be related to its past as a mobile mining station. It would be heavily plated and weaponized for its pirate duties (the standard weapons it will use in combat, whichever they are). For its skills, it will mostly have repurposed mining gear: Huge tractor beam able to freeze and pull ships.
Lasers only dominate in battle if energy is NOT a problem. Lasers are pure energy, and that must be generated somehow. If you are on a realistic space battle, lasers have a huge energy cost to be fired, but missiles already have their energy pre-packed in a self-contained chemical storage, to they cost very little to fire. It boils down to resource management. If A can fire enough point defense lasers, and manage the waste energy, which is probably generated in the form of heat,
I will guess/vote for corvettes to move in combat like fighters, instead of standing still, have special abilities like frigates, and have shields, but no jump drives, so they must be docked on carriers to go to another gravwell.
I gather that the devs are working on reducing memory consumption by optimizing textures and code alike, so I believe that the game will only hit the limits on huuuge custom maps. LAA will help a lot on 64-bit systems, but I don't know if the devs will want to enable it, because it would make differente experiences on different platforms, and that would require more testing. I hope they enable it though.
Just the stuff many people have been asking for some time to improve the ironclad online experience: 1) Single binary should allow for any game style from previous generations/expansions, i.e. Running the Rebellion binary I should be able to set up online matches of Vanilla/Entrenchment/Diplomacy/Rebellion games. 2) Online map sharing with dynamic map-loading: The map maker app should, on the first launch, present an EULA telling that to share the maps online, the player must
Yeah, i am just trying to stir up some conversation about it, but instead of just posting pie-in-the-slky dreams, I would rather get some insight some of the devs' vision, so that we can focus our suggestions more in line with their goals.
I gather they are being called as 'highly maneuverable' ships. That made me think that maybe the corvettes, instead of using the fly-to-the-front-of-the-enemy-and-stops-like-a-sitting-duck, it could use the fighter-like fly-by behaviour. That would be an interesting cross-breed between frigates and fighters, and the smaller corvette ships could give a hard time for the bigger ships to target them, depending on how targeting works.
Titles says it, mostly. I gather Titans, being described as huge ships which can tackle entire fleets, will be in the vicinity of a starbase's power. Maybe the starbases will be buffed a bit to have a better chance to stand a Titan mano-a-mano, Can the devs elaborate? Will it be: Starbase > Titan Titan > Starbase or Titan Starbase ? Which brings the questions: Do Titans have jum
The post with the breaking announcement does not describe in detail what the exact role of the corvette ship is. Judging from naval warfare, the corvette will be smaller, faster, more maneuverable than the frigate. I am just asking if this is really the place where corvettes will stand. Devs: if this wrong, where do they fit? Between frigates and cruisers? cruisers and capships? I will go forward with the initial notion that they are smaller than frigates, since it'
Banned for giving an open-ended, uncertain reason for banishment. I guess.
I have also this pie-in-the-sky wish of having more starbases, ya know. 0.01% chance of seeing it actually implemented is already optimistic. Still, here ya go: STARBASES TEC - ring station The station is not hand-placeable, it is always automatically placed at the
Gameplay changes: I. Structure placement Have the AI use some strategy when deploying structures. Placing a few turrets around the metal/crystal 'roids/factories , or leaving the starbase alone at the gravwell edge with no repair stations nearby is not exactly a good strategy. My favorite deployment is to place 4 turrets around the planet, so that the planet bombers will always take damage, and do a porcupine formation cluste
Occupation Forces: also, occupation forces would not destroy all planet improvements, like the normal planet bombing does.
Puppet Master: Defeat an enemy using pirate raids instead of directly engaging. (i.e. have an enemy surrender because of a pirate raid/mission launched because of you)
Implementing those two skills, even as a separate ship (a corvette perhaps?) would add interesting dynamics to the game IMO...
Every Sins player + dog might have ideas on how to improve Sins, and I am no different. [e digicons][/e] Here are my 0.05 cents: Make siege ships useful: I never invest in siege ships, they are paper planes, I don't the=ink they are useful enough. I want to suggest two skills, perhaps one could be for loyalist siege ships and the other for rebels. Occupation Forces Instead of bombing to wipe out population ent
I would like to know if you will open a sub-forum specific to Rebellion, just like you have one for Diplomacy, or if it is better to just use the main Sins forum. Additionally, is there a preferred time frame for us gamers to chime in with suggestions about the expansion? Or you have already a pretty good idea of what you want? It would be nice to have a dedicated forum for it IMO, with a first post about the general theme you are aiming, for the players to filter out their contributi

Dear Stardock, From your announcement, I take you are doing maintenance for Total Annihilation yourselves. I was very happy to find an old classic I loved revived, and recently purchased it. However, there are a few graphic glitches in the game. They are not fatal, but are annoying. 1) During the game, sometimes there is a flickering of black horizontal bands on the game. It is not continuous, but happens several times during a mission. Most of the time t
Here's the deal: One forum poster discovers in the fictitional forthcoming changelog ofthe next patch its most sweet, coveted, sugar-cloud-rainbow-pie-in-the-sky fix for the most loathesome bug, prickly nitpick or petty-demand-for-game-mechanics-change of SoaSE to fit its tastes. The next poster, though, in a closer look of the actual game, discovers something terrible which destroys the childhood dreams of the previous poster, breaking the game in an even more horrendous way. </
My intent is not to create YABRT (Yet Another Bug / Rant Thread), I was just kindly asking if/when/what updates are coming. So if my fellow folks keep it on topic, I will be immensely grateful. Thanks.
To the devs: I would like to ask the devs what can be told about what's going on. The fan base has broadly criticized the excessive power of the pirates, and approved the diplomacy aspect, I think the message has been sent enough times already. The sometimes thorny fanbase just wants the game to achieve greatness equally in all of its aspects. Make no mistake, we love your game. The question is: What is happening? Is the game considered 'finalized' as is? Are we to exp
