I think the tech-labs-in-capships is OP as is. It is a comparatively small investment which gives an instant super-up on researchable tech level. I think it should be 2 techs, one for civilian an another for military tech labs, and each one should be researchable 8 or 4 times, to unlock the ship labs one or two at a time. That would make it more progressive and increase its cost. The VL Titan should get a turning speed bonus on casting the MPJ, and/or perhaps a bet

I'd like to know from the devs if there is any more debugging we can help with. I am not an expert C/C++ programmer, but I am a longtime *web developer* doing server-side serious stuff, and I am dabbling at progrmming for mobile devices now. With some guidance I can run a debugger from the free Visual Studio, or whatever you want if it's free or has a trial, and send you some debug logs to try to zero in this issue.

Definitely, Orky jumping belongs with VL lore-wise. Nerfs should be sprinkled liberally as needed, but it definitely should be moved there. Do VR get the best diplomatic bonuses in their tech tree? I haven't played them yet. But this is one thing which they should have for sure according to what I have understood of the lore. As said, it's situational and in some games will not be useable at all, but it should still be there. I am not particularly excited about the fol
Honestly I think they should just not allow artifact worlds to be devoured beyond the dead asteroid point. It's needlessly complex and subject to abuse to do it any other way I think.
That's a good possible solution too. or just plain removing the artifact effects from the game session. Perhaps devouring an artifact planet into oblivion would render extra resources to compensate the loss.
Quoting Teun-A-Roonius, reply 3I just wish they put as many Artifacts as possible into each map and not just have one artifact for every ten planets on each like it is now... You can change this by changing the "planetArtifactDensity" line in each map. Default value is 0.15, aka. 15% chance. Also, Brazilian_Joe, I can increase the size, and even the amount of systems, in either of the two Huge random maps to make a new, Im

The Orkulus should have IMO: An 'enable-jump' skill which would disable the weapons systems and normal thrusters in preparation for the jump. The cooldown time would last enough for the whole jump, plus some time idling at the new grawell, where none of its weapons work and it cannot move. Perhaps a second tier technology can make it stay invulnerable in phase space until this cooldown expires, or a 'phase shield' which has a chance of sending shot into phase spac

The same logic would be true to all races. although only vasari can make the artifact movable, everyone can lose it to its neighbour. That wouldnt be a great idea since the Vasari Loyalist player can just research the Stripped to the core tech and not build a titan. This would leave h
All these assumptions about planet bombing fail to take into account the most obvious and most important aspects: If a war that has only been on going for 30 years or so, how can single colony ships repopulate an entire planet within that time frame? How can this happen on a regular basis? Also, if a neutral planet is colonised has no original inhabitants, where do the militia come from and who are they loyal to? Assuming that planets g

I'd like to see an even bigger than Huge Random Map, as that's what I usually play in SP, that would be Humongous or something like that. Like 50-100% more planets than huge maps. It would also be nice to have a custom random map with sliders for: number of systems number of planets hospitality (affects odds of colonizable vs. non colonizable gravwells) phase lanes (affects scarcity of phase lanes on each gravwell) wormholes (affects cha
I prefer the race of powerful psionic beings with unique and advanced technology. (Granted the Vasari are far older and have better tech but the Advent mix their tech with their psionic powers, creating different kinds of tech...) I have maxed my graphics - everything on highest, all graphic options on, FSAA 4x, 1920x1200. It didn't seem to hasten the CTD in any way. My system is not RAM constrained (8GB), but my video memory is 'just' 512MB. What seemed to do the trick though, was alt-tabbing to the desktop and getting back to the game. Playing on a huge multi-star game, already on a late game, alt-tabbed once and browsed a bit. Going back to the game started lagging

I advocate for them having a 'makeshift capital ship' at maximum threat level. Like salvaging an obsolete asteroid-cracker miner ship and tweaking it for offensive capabilities. Being a miner ship, it is a tanker hull by design, as it must both carry heavy loads and resist unintentional impacts, being an obsolete piece of junk which has no shields. Tractor beam: disables ship engines, prevents ships from jumping/turning. Mining l

I think the pirate counter should have a cooldown of 1-5 seconds from the last bid before pirate launch. I have gone auction-bidding in several games, and one of the definitiviely-not-funny-things about pirate raids is to have someone outbid you, and the pirates launch 1 femtosecond later. Pirate launch should happen no sooner than 1 to 5 seconds after the last bid, being delayed as needed, so that there is always time to respond to a bid.

I think it's silly to have an explosion have a square damage pattern. I mean, 9000 damage 14000 clicks away from the SB, then 0 damage 14001 clicks away. It should be a gradient. Then it would be OK to have a stupid range, since the fringe damage would be negligible.

They should have more positive traits. Also, perks which would be good getting the hands on early game, such as credit/metal/crystal mother lodes, but which deplete over time. Also random tech discounts, like a 'Ancient Data Core' or something to justify it. They could be a fixed bonus, like a 500/100/100 credit/metal/crystal discount on the next research, or on a tech tree, or a specific tech.

[SPACE PONY DISCLAIMER] I love you guys, the game is great and I appreciate all the hard work you pour into it. but... [/DISCLAIMER] The current loading screen kind of sucks. It seems to have been patched up in 15 minutes (or less...) My suggestion thus is this: Let some community creep in in. Throw us a bone. Give us the option to: 1) let game screenshots show up randomly on the loading screen, just patch up the 'loading...' somewhere. A transl

I'll bump up my textures to obscene levels to see if it crashes more frequently. Even if my frame rate suffers. Then I will tone down to the minimum and see if it gets less frequent.

[EDITed for clarity] There is something wonky with the AI/auto targeting. I sent a couple ships to attack an enemy gravwell. There were 3 fleets: One composed of my flagship, another a capital ship, and the third was mostly corvettes, but some LF and Hoshikos too. There was a capital ship and some LF, I queued most of the enemy LF as target with my corvette fleet, and went about other matters, since this AI enemy was toast already. When I came back to it, the t
