I for one find that the AI knowing to use a large fleet of Ogrovs against structures deserves several thumbs ups [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] Getting some bombers can help trashing those Ogrovs, as getting armor upgrades and repair bays. You can't expect a just-built starbase to survive an Ogrov fleet for long. Positioning can also help. If you place the SB next t

I think it could be simpler (aka the lazy route), as those animations could potentially take time: The Orky would have a long post-jump aftereffect where it wouldn't move or attack. The practical effect would be the same. The tech could have a second level this way, where it would be invulnerable in phase space until the i-am-useless-after-jump-cooldown expires.
Agreed. The splat-scorpion was stepped too hard on, consequently spreading to the sides too much. And it still sounds like an octogenarian.
So I gather from this thread that 4 of my 6 cores and 14 of my 16GB RAM are doing nothing at all when playing Sins?
They are. Running your OS, antivirus and other apps. And idling so that your single core can auto-overclock to envious green heights.
Random crazy idea #1: add PDS to the game Point defense system: deals no damage against ships, but is helluva effective against missiles. Random crazy idea #2: add PDS strike craft to the game Could also have a jammer ability to reduce enemy strike craft accuracy. Random crazy idea #3: add tank/support craft. Those dinkies would do no damage, but would absorb hits from a friendly target. Optionally unlock defense abilities in the defense tree to heal shields/hu
Colony and scouts should have a separate spawn button IMO though. Many times they are useless, but when we want them, we want THEM.
I think yes, stripping a planet should scuttle all orbital structures. Or add 3 scuttle buttons to the bottom interface: The main one for whatever is selected, and 2 for the gravity well, one for all tactical stuctures, and another for all civilian ones. But I guess this interface addition wont happen.
I OFFICIALLY propose that additionally the trolls AIs be locked on cruel and Vasari Rebels, while the player slot locked on Advent Loyalist.
Mecha-Lenin's has no authority over my thread, therefore his UNNOFICIALIZATION of my thread is OFFICIALLY UNNOFFICIAL. I OFFICALLY refuse to comply with the UNOFFICIAL restraining order against posting pseudo-OFFICIAL or pseudo-UNNOFICIAL threads, OFFICIALY or otherwise. I also OFFICIALY defy you for an online game, in which I am most likely be used as a floor mop, as Mecha-Lenin is OFFICIALLY playing SoaSE far longer than me.

Besides my Macunaíma-Bot can beat your Mecha-Lenin any day, even if it's our Advent Loyalist vs. your Vasari Rebels.
So, what's you take on all this ruckus? Do you participate on threads posting strong opinions, in some cases borderline or no-holds-barred trolling? Do you go in these threads just to post how silly they are having such idiotic opinions and OF COURSE disagreeing with them and showing the righteous path? Do you engage seriously or just for kicks? Do you pull your crotch hair so hard until your beard recedes back into your pores because of diverging opi
Hey I have suggested before, the splash screen should be open to load game screenshots or just any image the player wishes to drop in a specified folder, and there should be some community sharing system, be it steam workshop or something else. Awesome drawing btw!
Nothing against the ship looking like a squatted scorpion, but the voice is a grumpy old man in a feeble wannabee of a 'GET OFF MY LAWN *COUGH* *COUGH* *PANT* *PANT*' shout. Not as good as the older sore throat Vasari voices. Cough drops anyone?
I have seen at least corvettes and fighters idling in the midst of combat at several occasions, even in beta 3. In large fleets, I have also seen an attack-and-idle pattern, with fighters and/or corvettes split in 2 groups, where one group moves and attacks while the other idles, then the attacking group stops attacking and moving, and the first group starts it. They switch back and forth the attack and idle roles until I set a target queue manually. That was on beta 2c, I haven't
When... it's ... ready? (couldn't resist) [e digicons];P[/e] Hope it comes soon though.
Vasari+TEC+Advent from the future is sooo much more fun and drama. It also fits the current scarce tidbits of information.
Being that: 1) they have the greatest knowledge of phase tech 2) TAV coalition from the future are the descendants of Vasari (and TEC and Advent too) 3) TAV coalition uses a much more advanced form of phase tech to go back in time to wage war on their ancestors 4) TAV coalition is alien because it is from another time, not another place "...an ancient alien civilization running from a terror of their own creation..." fits the bill
I think it's a joint effort from TEC, Advent and Vasari from the future. The future TAV coalition discovered, after billions of years, close to the death of our universe, that it would be possible to open a rift and jump into another, younger universe. But they were already beyond the universal expansion curve where resources were already to far away an rarefied inside or universe, to the point that gathering energy spent more than it collected, beyond any hope. They
On more thing: I also think planet eating should leave the resource asteroids behind on the gravwell, so they can be controlled by any race.
Perhaps the VLT should have better effects on blink arrival location: Effects last for 5/10/15/20 seconds Faster speed and turning for the titan AOE: Disables enemy skills (at least frigates) Slows enemy speed and turning
BUG: No beta 3 known issues sticky. [e digicons];)[/e]
Never jump into phase space after midnight with space ponies onboard. They transform into the insane horrors known as the space pownies. And they sing and sing and sing until people start tearing off their eyeballs - even though it's music they are listening - and beg to be devoured, which the space pownies promptly do with pleasure, decent and ethical beings that they are, respecting other beings will, even if they are suicidal wishes. And they advance relentlessly
I even thought about some crazy stuff like blowing up a phase lane inhibitor to forcefully jump an enemy ship to another gravity well, but that could be a Titan ability too.
Problem is what are you gonna give the Vasari Rebels if we take Phase jumping Orkies away?
That's why I am suggesting for them to have synergistic skills based on existence of non-vasari ships on their fleet + ability to spawn more ships a la dark fleet OR permanently convert one frigate factory (even capital ship factory too?) to one of another race, after it's built. And the second plu
