Like the guys above state, you got to try new things, trial and error is the name of the game, but also just think logically, Having a diverse multi role fleet, early on picking easy targets, capturing and holding bottlenecks. Like real life momentum and initiative are powerful things. Also knowledge is power, Scout as much as you can so there are no nasty surprises. Also dont forget your first capital ship is free and you can build this from the get go.
I hate to say it but it does not look that good, its not really a space battle. As i gather from the video it is entirely a 2 dimensional battlefield with the units just going at it, it might as well have an ocean wallpaper and world war 2 ships.
Thanks for the comments guys, And mooster totally agree with you, it would proababy be too much reworking, But its nice to imagine, ah well back to the grind, But guys you did forget to post maybe one thing you wouldn't mind, not unit or new race stuff but gameply stuff, the intricate little details that keep us hooked and, they say its the small things that count,
OKay, Im posting this to quickly list a few things i believe could easily be incorporated into a patch or next micro exp that would greatly improve the playing experience through immersion, im not so much talking about extra races or ships but minor things that can affect your attachment to your own individual game in a big way...... if you have some post as well, 1. Ability to also Name and select insignia for Fleets.(who doen't love the personal touch) Also to name star
I only recently got this game and im finding there are just a huge number of tactics, Personally i hate to spread a bit and then hunker down and amass an army, just reminds me of age of empires, I've found its fine to use fleets not containing capital ships early on, also its fine to lose planets, by this i mean early on strike out, colonise for mines, and basically farm them and use this little boost to build your interior so when the enemy does come he ca
I only recently bought SoaSe and have just been blown away not only by the game but also the community and support i have seen, at first i was dubious about downloading impulse as i already have steam, but compared to steam impulse is a streamlined vision of the future, You could not ask for more, Thank you guys at stardock for doing something truly fresh, from my perspective anyway, for gaming. Oh and only 6 pound for entrenchment, thats me for the year!!!
