People buy and play games like this for the multiplayer. Do you think people are still playing the human campaign in Warcraft III 8 years after it came out? No. But, people sure as hell are playing DOTA and ladder daily. That being said, this game offers very little single player and an inoperable multiplayer system. If they can fix the multiplayer and make it on par with industry standards and other games like Warcraft III and Starcraft, then I can see people pl
Just so you (and everybody else who reads this) know, those sites only give above an 8.0 on games/companies that pay for advertisement space on their site. Forget the "oh, that was only one time thing" bull that some people might say, but it's been proven time and time again that those companies are using their reviews as a buyout. I don't trust a damn one of them. If only all the people who read the review knew that Unfortunat
I won't buy another copy but I will tell a couple friends about the game. One of my gamer budies in particular is a hard core XBOX and PS3 player. I just recently helped him build a computer and since he knows nothing about video games for the PC I have been waiting for a title that I, as a PC gamer, could be proud of sharing with him (just to think I actually thought about telling him about Darkfall before I played it). So far it looks like I may have to wait for Diablo or
How is it possible that pirated copies have an Impulse account that has a registered copy of Demigod assosciated with the account? You sir, are terribly misinformed/wrong.
P2P has failed for ten years or so now so maybe in another 10 years companies will finally stop trying to use it. Then again, probably not.
Hello. For a day or two I have been complaining about how I couldn't log into the multiplayer in Demigod. I just figured out my problem and I am sure it may help some of you with a similar problem. Basically, when creating my Impulse account I entered a 13 digit password. Impulse cut off the last character because they have a 12 character limit. Impulse saves your username/password locally so you are never prompted to put it in to log into the Impulse client.&nbs
Did someone say MMORPG complicated? /facepalm
Network Socketing in MMORPG is one of the most time intensive and complicated programming in the industry.
So basically something on par with a java chat client got overloaded.. hmm... I have a hosted site if they want to borrow my 1mb of bandwidth lol.
This game is not all that unique. This game is VERY similar to the Warcraft 3 map DOTA. that being said, I hope they can fix the MP and make someone on par with Blizzards ladder system because I look forward to playing this game for a very long time. I have prayed for years that Blizzard officially adoptded DOTA and created a ranked ladder but that never happened. When I saw this game on the new PC game release list I almost fainted. In theory it seems like exact
I am not exactly a computer whiz but how is there server overload with a P2P game? Doesn't it rely entirely on user's computers to host the game? If they are lagging when just trying to connect players together and not process the game engine, that isn't a good sign.
A RTS isn't nearly as complicated as a MMORPG. That is like saying that the NASCAR pit crews problem remind you of NASA shuttle failures. It is unacceptable for a RTS to be so terribly programed in the year 2009. There are video game schools that teach students how to program a network socket in year 3 and many of their final projects are higher quality than this (network game, not gfx, etc). P2P for gaming is terrible. It was terrible 10 years ago and it is terr
I think you are wrong. Games like WC3 and SC work flawlessly from day one for the most part. This game/the impulse client are utter trash as far as ease of use and connectability are concerned. A good idea only gets you so far, you need a game that works well to back up that good idea. Hopefully they can pull something out of their behinds and get this thing on track but gamers don't generally put a game down for a month and come back. A classic must-have game is
I am having this same exact problem. I ask for help and they send me my username and password in email. Thanks, I needed to know that. Anyways, if you want a game to hold you over until this debacle is taken care of check out DOTA. You can create accounts on the fly and I have never seen it not work. I myself am still waiting for an email back to tell me what to do to fix this.
I am having the same problem as poster above. I enter my Impulse username/pw and it says invalid. Maybe they should try to emulate the WC3 Blizzard system. Seems like that worked out well for them.
