It seems like a typical failure pattern. You knock one out of the park (Sins) and you say "this is easy," let's make another blockbuster. So, for the same paltry budget you make another game but you don't need to try as hard and you keep to the same failed principles (P2P multi-player?!?!?, wtf is it 1992 still?)

I logged in to Impulse to play some Galactic Civ and I realized I still have this game active. Is it still a disaster from start to finish with mega lag, terrible AI, dropped games, bad record keeping, etc. etc. etc. I was just wondering because I haven't played in a month or 2 and I might get tired of DOTA someday, but probably not. Anyways, thanks.
I think there are many people exaggerating on the forums as to the state of the game in multiplayer. Maybe I am just used to lag-free gaming but when I am able to play with other people (1 in 10 chance on a good day) after a few waves of creeps it is terribly laggy to the point of being unplayable. And no my computer doesn't suck.
Quoting ganKing, reply 6 Not only have all of Stardock/GPG's attempts to fix multiplayer so far failed, but not one of those failed attempts has worked as intended on their first try. A for effort but F on the rest, unfortunately. How can they be releasing "betas" for a game I already bought? I don't understand the people who, this far in, can still have such a positive attitude about this.
Why did you send us a link where virtually no one has any real input? The original post had some issues which he mentioned briefly, but mainly just complained that it wasn't a DotA clone. From there the thread became lost to trolls, by the looks of it.
I sent it because someone boldy stated in plain English that they have never seen a locked thread and there is one 8 spaces down the forum list.

They are supposed to be installing servers to deal with the P2P debacle. Give them a few weeks.
I think it is bad for somoene with veto power to prowl the forums. Half of the people with negative opinions are too scared to say them so you get a lot of "this game is pretty good/ok/fun" with absolutely no critique on the dozens of negative factors. Also, you get critical but thought provoking threads locked down with a vengeance. Anyways, just my opinion.
I have yet to have any serious issues and I've played 10 or so games so far. Also it is NOT THE P2P that is breaking all of this. It may not be helping the situation but if you would keep track of Frogboy, you would know that its a problem with data not getting to the impulse servers from the NAT thingys which as I understand it was all created by Stardock. GREAT NEWS!! The patch is coming out looks like in just a few h
pre-patches i never had a problem playing ever since they released the "fix" it got worse and worse with every patch, plus every time you alt-tab u get a fatal error, the menus are still slow and hang up, there is so much to be fixed its going to be long after this next patch that the game is actually a full working and fun to play game. how ever im here with everyone else just waiting it out hoping it gets better from here
You can try and play Panthenon. It is a rotten waste of time and you won't be out of place if you lag everyone to death and drop game before loading.
I think it will be shutdown.

Yeah I care about personal flames, check my record loser. Anyways, you are sounding the typical fanboy death knells of a dying game. Go to the Darkfall, AoC, WAR forums and there is the same message from people unwilling to let go of the fantasy: The game is getting better, the game will be the best someday, the game doesn't have the same amount of time to develop as other games, the game is only for hardcore players and not suitable for noobs from X game, the company is sma
This genre is finally taking off and other games are coming out besides Demigod so quitcher bitching.
Do you have any evidence for this statement or are you just making things up? What genre is taking off? you mean the genre that both Demigod and DOTA belong in? DOTA has had millions of players across the globe. You can generally login to games that run smoothly within a few minutes of trying. I have NEVER crashed out of DOTA and I have bee
Maybe they should try to copy DOTA. It might be good then.
So I have been giving this game a chance but I am reaching the end of my fuse. Tonight I queued for 5 minutes and got kicked. Then I queued for another 5 minutes and got a 1v2 game against 2 AI. Next game was 2vs2 with 1AI on each team and the other player left after 5 minutes. What is the long term goal for this game? Will it EVER performd like a typical bnet DOTA game? I am not trying to flame, just wondering what we should expect because I am getting tir
If you quit DOTA because of the gfx I am willing to bet you were never very good at the game. You don't quit a game with perfect gameplay because of gfx unless you are terrible at it.
The Pantheon has not updated my stats for about 3 days now. It says I am 6/1 and I should be like 25/4. Anyone else having this problem?
Most of those reviewers were in a hurry to publish their review (you know the magic word we call deadline? Most of the sites are trying to be the first that have the review available.). Cause if they weren't, they could have waited a week to review it or they could contact Stardock for further clarifications (in their mail they could state that they were writing their review at that time). It was NEVER this bad. Not even close IIRC. SupCom nowadays has fantastic connectivity compared to Demigod. No waiting 15 minutes to get into a lobby, either. And yes, ports were a problem with SupCom too, but
I sent you a mail last night... Nothing back yet.
All this whining about the reviews is making me sick. A game doesn't do well or fail over a several year time frame because of reviews on opening day. It does well when it is fun and works well (ie not P2P MP games).
Although players can connect to MP games they are still almost unplayable. 4 FPS because of network lag is just as bad as not playing at all. Any plans to rework the way games are netwroked so that they are playable like WC3 games?
